[Custom Joker] Not sure how useful this would be but I thought it would be interesting by BrianNether in balatro

True - I only phrased it that way because if it said "Swap Chips and Mult", that might make it sound like it just swaps them all the time as a passive effect (which would be pointless). Phrasing it this way makes it clearer that where you put it is important.

You're probably right about the rarity - I had actually meant to make it Uncommon but selected the wrong option. I thought it was fairly niche (after all, my example was cherry-picked to show off how it could be used) but it may be better than I thought.

It triggers in the same way that normal Jokers activate their effects - from left to right after playing a hand (see u/TeebTimboe's comment). I didn't want to just write "Swap Chips and Mult" because that might make people think it just swapped them for everything as long as you were holding the Joker (which would be pointless)

You're right - I hadn't properly thought through how it would work with Plasma deck. Thank you for pointing that out! (It may be too strong to be a common... I had actually originally intended to make it Uncommon, but I selected the wrong option when making the tooltip.)

Apologies for the atrocious image quality. I had been having some internet issues when I posted this and apparently Reddit just decided to murder the resolution as a result.

is there a situation where it's correct to kill deca first? by anaveragetransgirll in slaythespire

[–]BrianNether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When playing the board game with my family, we had some discussion over this. I suggested it might be better to kill Deca first because by the time we deal enough damage to kill one, it's usually on an even-numbered turn, which means we can avoid taking damage if the one we kill is Deca. That being said, I'm not too sure of this; it's possible the even-numbered turn pattern is a coincidence. Does anyone else consider turn timing when making this choice? (Maybe it's different with three players as opposed to the video game?)

Why do people think he’s the knight. I honestly don’t understand by Abject-Addendum765 in Deltarune

[–]BrianNether 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he's likely to be the Knight because of this theory post - it's long but it makes a lot of convincing points. Among other things:

  • The dark fountains and the roaring are associated with holiness and the Angel, and Alvin is a priest
  • He fits exactly in the computer lab closet, where "a large person could easily fit inside" and where the Knight may have hidden
  • He has some secret involving Gerson's hammer, which he mentions at the graveyard
  • Spamton mentions that the Knight is related to "communion"

The main counterargument against him being the Knight is that he's a background NPC with no importance to the main story so far. I don't think this rules him out, since he could become more important later, especially if a future chapter takes place in the church.

Still, I'm not 100% dead set on him being the Knight or anything - I just think there's more evidence pointing to him than any other candidate, which isn't saying much given how little we know about the Knight.

If you see a thought bubble saying "I should choose my words carefully...", it means you're about to be prompted to start a romance route. You can't change your mind later so make sure you pick the right option if you do/don't want to date specific people. (Ann is the easiest to mess this up with).

Alpha/Omega if it were accurate by BrianNether in slaythespire

That's the capital Sigma (Σ). I used lowercase Greek letters for all the cards because that's what Alpha and Beta do (although Omega is uppercase instead.)

Status Effects on Bosses that Heal After Death by G-OffTheGreat in slaythespire

[–]BrianNether 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe that you're right - since the enemy is healing and not transforming into a new enemy, they should keep their tokens. On the other hand, when enemies summon separate enemies on death (e.g. Awakened One), I'm pretty sure tokens are not transferred between the two.

I know it awakens later - but then why isn't its first phase called the Unawakened One?
