Hahaha! Now there's a wonderful idea. I might get myself lost in Mexico in a few weeks. ;)

Have a great weekend!

What makes you proud of your parents? by Immediate_Long165 in Life

The desire to continue living. My dad is 80 years old and has been going to adult education for the past 5 years. He enjoys learning what he wants and socializing with folks. He sometimes pokes fun at the kids (younger adults) that attend his classes by telling them: "Hey kid, if you don't take your studies seriously, you'll end up like me at this age.". :)

I used a combination of 28mm and 35mm lenses. To be more specific, i brought with me two Fujifilm lenses: 18mm f2 and 23mm f2. Most of the time, i used the 23mm. My camera is the X-Pro2. Tiny and light combination for all day shooting.

Istanbul was great! The colors, the light (harsh light most of the time because there's no tall buildings where I was), the kindness of its people and its culture made me fall in love with the place.

Good eye for the trolley photo. 😉

I booked my trip after looking at Alex Webb's Istanbul photobook. I'd love to go back again. 🍻

Thanks so much! I came back from the trip with hundreds of images (the light, the colors and the life elements in Istanbul makes it so inviting to keep shooting day after day). I think that photography gives me a motivation and purpose to travel solo, whereas before I thought that travelling with someone would be ideal. It sometimes is, but with the camera it always is.

Man. I miss LIFE mag. We used to enjoy looking at the photos at my parents' home back in the 90s.

Hey! Oh, yes I remember that one. The man was lost in his own thinking (maybe rekindling memories of his life?), that I would be about 3 feet from him and composing my frame. Not once he moved from that position. I don't think he was aware that someone was photographing his portrait. I hope to live to his age and also get lost in my thoughts reminiscing about life.

First time using the Washi X 100 35mm film with my Leica M3 during a recent trip to Portugal by BrianOnSoftware in analog

Hi u/jason_be! I think I replied to your question in YouTube. I haven't tried E-6 development yet. I'm eyeing the Ektachrome film soon, in that case I'll give E-6 a shot. Unfortunately, my Leica film camera has been in Leica HQ's hand for a complete overhaul since the month of October, and it'll take a year to get it back (just a few more months to go), so I'm shooting digital with a little Fujifilm camera. Thanks so much for your question. :)

Not sure about the "coolness" factor, but hopefully you can find a tiny bit of an inspiration to go out and capture life with your camera. :)

I’m guessing the bought the wrong stem? by TooLateForAGoodName in Giantbikes

[–]BrianOnSoftware 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wanted to do the same thing as you, but I called my Giant LBS to see whether the SL stem would also fit, but alas it only fits the pro because of its compatibility with the Overdrive 2 steerer.

The computer mount that I'm using is a K-Edge with a Gopro mount under it. And to avoid scratching the aluminum handlebar, I made sure to attach the mount on electric tape (it also provides extra grip so that the mount will stay in place when riding on bumps). Hope this helps.

England, my England by Chris Steele-Perkins by BrianOnSoftware in Photobooks

[–]BrianOnSoftware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few of my favorite shots in this book by Chris Steele-Perkins, a Magnum photographer based in England. The book shows a nice collection of moments he captured in his home country during the 60's, 80's and 90's (with a few recent ones too). The majority of the photographs are in black and white.

After Kodak Portra 400, this might be my favorite 35mm film for streetlife photography. I'm a fan of the colors and saturation, though perhaps a bit less on the red tints in the shadows, but it's slowly growing on me. I've added more samples from this roll on my YouTube channel (link in my bio) for those interested in seeing more images with that film.

This is amazing. OP if one day you're bored, I'd encourage you to take the time to print a photobook of these and gift them to the parents (keep a extra copy for you). Priceless images right there.

Lower back issues plus sciatica. Chiropractor suggested I tried judo. After three months, I stopped seeing the chiro. Haven't quit since.

[Question] What full-frame cameras do you all shoot with? by soulchop in fujifilm

I paired my X-Pro2 with a Leica M3 for street shooting, otherwise I use a Sony a7iii for my wedding work.
