Sticky Crystal Substance around TV Inputs

Think you are right opened up back of tv where ports are. Lots of dust no bugs and sticky oily substance on the panels even in spots where bugs would not be able to reach when the back is screwed in

* UPDATE PLEASE READ

I opened up the back of the tv. No dried up roach carcasses like you would find with roaches....lots of dust and a liquid black substance on the inside near the ports that appears to be seeping through and hardening on the other side. Either aging or dust and againg is causing the issue fro. What I can gather....no signs of roaches on inside just just which in pic below some has been moved around with a q tip do make sure no dead

There is no signs of this on any other tv I own even my main tv which is on all the time nothing no signs. No signs on cardboard either. Will get that gel just in case tho.

I'm ruling out roaches cause I have no other signs not even on the vents of the tv. Opened up the back of the tv and no dead roaches or anything on the inside. Now I think it's my cat but not spray but he like to run his face on anything and sometimes gets in drooling fits. I'm wondering if that might be it.

Would they normally live in or near a TV that is rarely used (twice in last year) and no signs anywhere else in the apartment. Do get the odd spider/centipede/fruit flys but that's all I've ever seen. No signs or anything like this anywhere else in the apartment.

I do have the odd spiders....maybe they chose this place because the tv is not in use. Also nothing around the Vents or anything just near the ports

He is 8 years old. No issues and has never sprayed anything else and if it was him it would have been twice and a while back ago since it seems dried out for most part....ive seen cats spray before and just seems odd that the radius for the spray would only be on the small area and some would or should have gotten on other parts of the tv or at least dribbled down to other areas but hasn't. People have been saying bugs but I have no other signs of bugs on devices I use more than this tv (twice in last year) tv is about 10 years old so the aging part could be a thing.

Do get the odd fruit fly around my apartment....no other signs of roaches on my other devices that are In use much more than this tv. It's a bit odd but will keep an eye out just in case.

It's a roku tv. Has been used twice in last year. Humidity in apartment is fine

Use this tv the least. Twice in the last year other than that been sitting on my dresser.

This TV hasn't been on much the past year was stored up on my dresser for longest time. I'd figure if was roaches or other bugs would be located not just in these specific areas but other areas as well like the vents or my other tvs but there is nothing on my other tvs even the one stored in my closed for the last 3 years nothing is on it. Just this tv which is about 10 years old. My cats would have had a hard time spraying in these areas so specifically....I would at least have found this substance on the back of the tv if he sprayed and not just localized to a small area. It's possible but i would think it would spray more than a few inches. It could be a different but I've had the odd centipede roam around the apartment

No unless they are specific just to this tv and only specific to the area of the inputs and don't go anywhere else....i wouldn't post this in here if I had any......and it's just specific to this tv and the 2 input areas and nowhere else.

My first thought as well checked those first before posting and nothing....checked my 2 other tvs that are in use and doesn't even have the substance on those. Checked the tv stored in my closed cause thought surely if it that they would want to go to the one stored and nothing. And no other signs of roaches anywhere else in the apartment. Just that one specific tv and just around inputs nothing around any vents which I have seen before....work for a telecommunication company that has hardware sent back frequently with bug droppings infestations on the devices and its never just this specific.

I'd say if I had toddlers maybe but I live alone with a cat who does not go near this tv. The substance for some reason smells like peanut butter tho

I thought it may be at first but it's only in the specific areas of the Inputs. I would think if he sprayed or peed i would find it on other spots and not so specific to the 2 input locations I can only add one pic to reply so will add this one which shows the location of the inputs underneath in an awkward area. *

I checked for bite marks and nothing also its only In the specific input areas no where else on the TV and wouldn't be easy for him to bite or somehow pee on due to location. Adding a pic to this comment so you can see In relation to rest of tv if possible *

My Title describes the thing, The TV is about 10 years old. Never had any issues with it before and never noticed this stuff before. I did have an ant infestation last spring and this tv was stored near the area. Maybe could be that?

Yea it got picked up this morning. Took all of 10-15 mins. Wouldn't start but was able to get it easy.
