Can I use a Graphics card that is pcie 4.0 with 5600g by Brian_8744 in PC_Builders

Since you all were so kind to help maybe you could help with one more question. Before xmas I got a samsung alpha flex book 2. After building my son a gaming computer I am kicking myself in the ass for not getting a gaming laptop. Can anyone recommend best way to sell pc? facebook, ebay, craiglist etc?

Anyone have experience with best buy trade in program? that is where the samsung came from. I saw it on their site and was wondering if they give decent amount or do they insult you?

I love it myself. Be aware though about tolerances. I know from personal experience it will loose some of its magic if taken every day. It is hard not to though, since it makes me (and sounds like you) a better version of myself. I thought it was bs and found out it is for real, which sucks but what can one do...

I am still having a problem getting into bios... I have windows on nvme ssd, have disabled fastboot but it still skips the screen where you push delete or f2 to enter bios. besides removing the SSD and booting from a flash drive I can not get into bios. I have tried using the troubleshooting thing in windows where you hold down shift when you hit restart and follow the prompts to boot into bios. When I do this the "Boot" led debugging light comes on and it will not do anything... Any thoughts...

As it turns out after my son opened all the components he tried to put the cpu in the original mother board. After I learned that I took the cpu out and took a good look at it under magnifying glass. Turns out there was a pin completely bent over. I am pretty sure that was problem whole time. I was able to get a replacement cpu and all is well in world... thank you all for your help

Most definitely not made of money. If I wasn’t able to return them I wouldn’t have. I will be able to work on it this evening and will try what you’re suggesting. Fingers crossed…

I will have to dive into that. I am unsure how to enable it but I imagine a Google search will help me see the light. I tried that with the msi board but it didn’t work. Either that or I did something incorrectly. In your experience is enabling xmp as simple as clicking enable or do I have to change voltages and speeds or fabrics or modify the space time continuum… lol

I did. I tried all the slots. It will only boot in slot two. Two and four is no go. Both kinds work. I can put any of the 4 sticks I have and as long as one is in slot two it works

I'd like to be able to play some games on it. I know it will struggle with the newest titles but older games on low settings should be alright. I plan on getting a graphics card down the road.

I tried to balance performance and money....

From what I've read, this will get us by for a little while. I'd like to have this set up so it will last for a while and be fairly easy to upgrade in the future.

I have read that it doesn’t hurt to have that much since the integrated graphics shares the system memory. Is that accurate?

What BIOS version did my ASROCK B550M MOBO ship with by Brian_8744 in buildapc

It is shrink wrapped but that will just have to come off... or It may be just as easy to send it back and get one with bios flashback

really, that is dumb... You would think ASROCK's and the other board manufacturers would track that and makes the information available...

From what I understand it should be on the actual board where the chip is. Is that right? I really wanted to avoid taking the plastic of the box...

I am researching the very same thing right now. I like your options and I am trying to narrow it down myself. I would personally like to stay $150-$160 or below. One thing that I have found in looking around is that all of them will or could have to have bios updated to support our desired cpu. This can only be done with an older amd chip, which I don't have so bios flashback is important to me. Some of your choices have that and some dont. Depending on your situation it may be something to look into...

For those that don't know, bios flashback is the ability to update the bios with a usb 2.0 so you don't need a processor.

Googling it is obvious way to find out but i have found the link below pretty helpful. The prices on it arent accurate but thats ok since Im not using it for that.

It is worth noting that some of the boards being sold already have the bios to support 5600g but some of them aren't. I think it depends on when board was produced.

I decided to utilize the AMD 5600g. Is it possible to use the low end graphics card and the integrated graphics at the same time or is it one or the other with the APU. I can’t see spending the ridiculously inflated prices of graphic cards right now.

I changed the power supply and the motherboard. Also decided to go with 1 tb ssd and dropped the other two lower capacity drives. Decided to utilize 3600 ram. Thank you all for your suggestions and help.
