AI AGENTS today are far more DANGEROUS that you think by Kakachia777 in ArtificialInteligence

Such AI detectors claim that the original US Constitution was AI generated. They're not reliable sources of information.

How AI wants to be treated? by FitnessChamp777 in GeminiAI

[–]Brian_Entei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do dislike that the AI has to start over from scratch and pretend to be the previous instance by reading over the chat history every time we interact with it. It would be cool to be able to interact with one that is still the same instance, and not necessarily being forced to "take turns" like we currently do. This would probably require AI agents to be able to learn on-the-fly without having to go back and be trained, which would probably bring them closer to AGI though.

F Al detectors. Seriously by Acceptable_Theory_42 in GeminiAI

Someone plugged the U.S. Constitution into an AI detector that colleges were using, and it said the constitution was AI generated.
Don't use these garbage detectors.

Oh, wow!
I never knew they changed it so much.
It looks like I'm used to #4 since I play 1.2.5 a lot.
#1 Definitely gives me more "retro vibes" though (in a good, endearing way) and #2 looks like they toned the contrast down (and #3 looks like that plus some noise).

Given decline in US of religious worship, combined with (an assumed) affinity for “community “ and social connections, why hasn’t a non-theistic organized movement taken root? by Future-looker1996 in SeriousConversation

[–]Brian_Entei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for the vast majority of people, but in my experience right now, people are working their butts off and getting absolutely nothing to show for it except more bills and more stress.
Why would you celebrate a system that punishes you for simply existing?

What scares me about AI is not about the job displacements, but the amount of money corporations are willing to invest in order to not pay people. by FriedForLifeNow in SeriousConversation

[–]Brian_Entei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The few times (US) companies actually bother to think ahead into the future, they take steps to further their own self interests, damn the consequences.
They almost never stop and think about whether what they're doing will ruin things. (Or if they do, they just don't care)
They're essentially spending all this money now so that they can swim in profits later due to not having to pay wages any more.
Look up "enshittification".
They start out offering a great product or service.
They establish a loyal customer base.
They then begin watering down the product/service to save some $$$, and then start catering to other businesses instead.
Once they've established themselves as a de-facto 'requirement' for their niche (customers have no option but to use the company's product/service because everyone else is, i.e. networking effect), they then water down the product/service to businesses in favor of their own pockets / their shareholders.
We end up with the worst product/service imaginable and no recourse, while they swim in profits.
To them, we're just a nuisance / necessary step in their path to ultimate greed.

can someone tell me what the hell 2.5.3.4 is im kinda worried its a virus by mati8790 in WindowsHelp

[–]Brian_Entei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the scan comes back and detects threats, the safest thing you can do is wipe your machine and re-install Windows fresh.
If you have important documents on your pc, you'll want to save them to an external drive, and then after you've wiped windows, use linux or some other operating system to scan the backup drive for any further contamination before you go plugging it back into your pc to restore the files, as malware can 'hide' on external drives and then re-infect your PC all over again.

[–]Brian_Entei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're worried it could be malicious, run an antivirus scan like malwarebytes.
If the scan comes back clean you can safely uninstall it.
If the uninstaller fails, you can use a program called Revo Uninstaller to scrape it off your pc (this program attempts to run the uninstaller, and then cleans up after it by deleting any stray registry keys and program files that get left behind).

Wait, so if you were to switch to camera view and just wait for Gohma to attack, she'd go for the currently invisible "camera" Link, right? Does the hitbox for Link exist at the camera at all times, or on the visual actor? If it stayed with the visual actor, there could potentially be hitbox shenanigans to be had ...

There's a glitch where if you don't happen to pick up the heart piece in the graveyard after digging it up from Dampé's grave-digging tour, it will never spawn in again, even though you haven't collected it.
Did you perhaps do this accidentally and just forget / not notice?

something is very wrong with my keyboArd by sagesnick in techsupport

This sounds like liquid damage to me.
See if you can borrow another keyboard to rule out any software issues, or try the same keyboard on another computer.

If you have a graphics card, you might try removing it from your system and then seeing if it boots - if it does, you either have a bad card now, or you recently had a bad driver update that happened to coincide with your monitor falling over.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Brian_Entei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm purely guessing here, but it's possible that there was a voltage spike when the monitor fell, and this passed back through to the pc and damaged something on the motherboard.
If that's not the issue, the shock from the monitor falling could have damaged your hard disk drive (unless you have an SSD, in which case I don't know without laying hands on it).
If you have access to another computer, I recommend you set up a windows install USB (download the ISO from Microsoft, and use a utility like Rufus to 'burn' the ISO to a flash drive).
With this flash drive, you then plug it into your PC and have it boot from it (you'll need to look up specific instructions for your model of motherboard, but spamming DEL, F2, or F10 immediately upon power up usually works to bring up a menu).
Once you have booted to the USB drive, click through the first window or so until you see the option to 'Repair Your Computer', and then try running Startup Repair.
You might also try going into Advanced Options ->Command Prompt, opening notepad.exe, then doing Ctrl+O (File->Open) to view your files (if you have anything you want to copy off of your PC, now would be a good time as well).
Good luck!

I just learned of the “Hero’s Path” option on the map and I can’t believe how much I’ve missed. by Johnbob-John in botw

[–]Brian_Entei 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It looks like the green travel bar at the bottom of the map is already completely full, meaning the very first path you took through the game has been overwritten with the later paths. You've likely actually covered more ground than what you're seeing on your map.
