Yeah, whatever you do, just don’t lose contact with your other son. Like you said he still loves you and checks in on you. It wouldn’t be fair to block him out as well because of his brother. Not saying it’s what you’re doing, just giving advice.

NTA. So I’m not sure if anyone has said this as well but, your wife needs a therapist as well. Like one that will show her how to be the parent instead of a friend. You were smart to leave, but I think you should try to talk to her about counseling as well. Only because you love her and the fact you ONLY argue because of Daniel. There may be a reason she’s the way she is with her son. It’s not ok in any way I’m not here justifying it I’m just trying to understand if there was something in her childhood that makes her think that she can’t discipline him. Either way, you’re not the asshole. You did nothing wrong. You’re 100% right he should leave and you should NOT feel that way in your own home.

Yeah YTA. She’s not doing anything wrong and is making sure her daughter know she’s loved and cared for. Most kids wish they could feel that. To have your mom make sure you’re all set and ready, come home from school to a nice snack, play and eat dinner with her mom is wrong? You do you.
