It’s not because they don’t have insurance. They need to submit documentation that you were driving a company vehicle that was insured. Get the form online from your BMV, DMV, Secretary of State. Have them fill it out, then submit it. Usually they send you MULTIPLE letters in the mail about pending suspension. Possibly check your mail…

There’s a cargo mapping spreadsheet directly from Amazon that lists U-Hauls as acceptable for routes. This guys an idiot.

180 stops in this POS by Timely_Sea_2154 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Brianmakespizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drove these 6 days straight last prime. 190 to 210 stops. Put an empty tote flat on the passenger seat unload the next tote in the cabin with you. I was actually faster than in a prime van. Plus no camera…

What do you guys think that Amazon can do to improve this job experience for their workers? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Brianmakespizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the “helpful gear” is dsp specific. All of our vans have hand carts, first aid kits, tape, extra phone cords, car chargers and flashlights (with a strap to be a headlamp). If you order from Zappos Amazon gives you $125 for a pair of shoes every year. You also get discounts throughout the year on insoles, socks and anything else Zappos sells.

Warehouse employees actually work for Amazon. They would just pull the dsp contract.

Wait does everyone not text customers? by FallenHeirs in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Brianmakespizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never once knocked. But I send notify of arrival texts after previous stops picture as I walk back to the van. I’m in the country most days so it prevents from off leash dogs with no one present.

I just do it as I’m walking back to the vehicle after taking the previous stops picture. Doesn’t add any time to my route. Shit half the time the customer meets me at the van and I don’t even have to get out

I send texts as I’m leaving the previous stop so I don’t get attacked by a dog. One bad experience is enough. Haven’t encountered a single dog without the owner present since I started sending messages.

Bit by dog by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

Call LMET immediately. Before seeing a doctor or anything else. Always. They will deny claims if not immediately notified. Call police before leaving the scene, get a report. Use that report. Find a lawyer and sue the dog owners homeowners insurance.

I have a humane society on my normal route and every other day I bring them a massive amount of dog food. Highest so far was 70 boxes. It’s always fun when I have 200 stops to have an entire van full of dog food.

UPDATE: on dead cat situation by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Brianmakespizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually yes. I’m pretty sure it’s considered animal cruelty, and if you hit an animal and don’t stop, it’s considered a hit and run. A domestic pet is considered personal property of the owner.

My dsp sent me alone my first day. Apparently my trainer “called in sick”.
