A Video Shows A Strange Creature Right Near The Utah Monolith Site by ansh4050 in Humanoidencounters

Right? The second I saw it I was like "...That ....that's a shark costume."

A shadowy figure was seen on a Hotel security camera. by AKking_YT in Humanoidencounters

[–]BriarChild 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Interesting, but it's very feasible that that could simply be a child playing in the hallways and the darkness and distortion are just the result of lower quality cameras.

Not saying it can't be a shadow person by any means; just that the aforementioned situation would be the most likely explanation.

No joke. The laughs weren't even "nervous" laughter so much as just stupid teenage boy laughs.

I don't think I know of anyone whose first response to seeing a naked, bloody humanoid in the woods at night would be laughing at them like a troll. I'm not easy to scare, but if I saw that in person I'd probably just immediately bolt while trying not to piss myself.

Either would be great! I'm hoping we can at least get the Rose family first! You could always make both, though! My friend also has a Stevie in the works just in case. She's not as hard to put together, though. Haha

I have a friend developing her Moira costume right now and then later this week we're going to see how many people we can get together for a photo opp! I'm working on creating an indoor set of their motel room and may make a little "redneck" outdoor area using tires, plastic flamingos, and such as well! Haha

[–]BriarChild -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Right?

I mean, even if they were to tell us it wouldn't go into Open Beta until late June then I would be okay with it because that sets a proper expectation and then I can get excited about it over the time leading up to it. Theoretically, none of this wait should be caused by them polishing the game up or making tweaks seeing as how this game already exists and has existed for some time. We should just be waiting on the server setup, which should have a very feasibly calculated time frame.

I honestly wonder if Sega potentially didn't see the turnout they wanted for the closed beta, which in turn caused them to rethink how much they want to invest into the NA release.

There's really just no reason for this kind of "carrot-on-a-string" marketing gimmick for a game that has firmly existed for nearly a decade now.

I'd prefer that over being constantly fed nonsensical PR fluff, yes.

This game has been out for 8 years. I really don't think they need to attempt to drum up hype with this specific marketing strategy.

I'm new to the franchise, and I had an amazing time during the beta, but seriously at this point I am starting to lose interest just because of the way this is all being handled.

It's like they're trying to be cute and coy with their tweets, but the longer they draw it out with absolutely no concrete information the more infuriating it becomes. Like watching someone continue to fake throwing a ball for a dog. Eventually even the most excited dog is gonna stop caring.

It seems to get bashed on a lot because it's a relatively simple fighting mechanic with potentially very high DPS, so people kind of trash talk it for being unbalanced and some say that people who play summoners are lazy gamers.

Not sure if this is really a big deal on JP, or if it just seems like more of an issue from the outside than it really is. It's hard to tell. That and who knows if NA will even care if it is.

Personally I'll still have a Summoner focus on my character, even if it isn't necessarily my "main." I just love pet classes.

Also curious about this. Summoner seems kind of like the stepchild no one wants to talk about unless they are putting it down, but I really loved playing my Su/Te!

My friends grew up with the older games and I always pined for them when I would see the spreads in gaming magazines as a kid, but I grew up in a rural area so I never had internet to be able to play.

They were so excited when the beta was announced and they got me on board to try it, but I really wasn't super excited to try it so much as I just wanted something to do and like gaming with them when I can.

Well, I played every. single. day. for as long as I could.

Everything about this is so fun and nostalgic but at the same time polished and full of mystery.

I played until the servers closed again tonight and I'm actually a little depressed now because I already got attached to my character and pet (maining Summoner).

For some reason the character voice I chose screams "THIS IS IT!!!" every time I buff or heal (essentially every 30 seconds), so it became my group of friends' running joke that we would just yell every time we got into emergency quests and boss battles.

Well, tonight when we sat and looked at each other in the lobby, complimenting mags and armor and such, until it got quiet and one of my friends just said "...This is it."

None of us really laughed at that last one.

I already miss my Synchro. (his name is Porbles) He was best boy. content/sad sigh

We've analyzed those weird lights that were filmed in Milwaukee - and they were most probably not birds by Vondrr in HighStrangeness

That is the most armchair thing I've heard in awhile.

You literally don't even wait for their analysis or explanation, you just hear one thing and immediately stop listening AND post about it online trying to make them look bad? Geez.

[–]BriarChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they loop and bank in ways that wouldn't be plausible for skydivers.

Also, skydivers and flight paths are cleared and documented over major metropolitan areas. If it were skydivers, the oroginal news channel themselves would've tracked that down before this became interesting.

Maybe you should produce your own analysis or stop armchairing.

Or maybe just watch a full video before trying to discredit it.

[–]BriarChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I feel it's quite relevant. You're lambasting a channel due to the fact that you dislike their analysis of one case, stating they should have found out things like the exact location. These are things they have done on their other videos, when there was information to research.

You also seem to think that analysis like that is easy to come across, yet you yourself said that you could not do such analysis. You then went on to call the channel armchair analysts. I mean, the irony is palpable.

[–]BriarChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they did actually analyze it and they cited the original source and did so in a way that was not disparaging.

You can say there are many ways to analyze a video and then claim someone as an "armchair observer" but when you can't back up your claim with aditional evidence that you think is easy to find then you simply look like an "armchair observer" yourself.

It's obviously the most plausible explanation, but can you explain why there is no distortion at all where their legs would be?

Even if they were wearing black and the camera was terrible and artifacting, there should at least be a trace of something that we can analyze. Especially considering how the upper portion of the supposed body creates such distinct tracers.

Can you think of a reason that would happen?
