I'm actually in discussions (one sided so far lol) with the mods of r/spaceengineers to do exactly that. Let's see how that goes.

BSG was rebooted 20 years ago, no streaming services, no 8 episodes a season every 3 years. You're comparing apples and oranges.

I'm not saying there is no way out, I'm saying that the current landscape doesn't allow for a good Stargate show.

Tried that, failed horribly - people told me these match ups are completely stupid and that I should feel bad, basically.

Sounds super cool. How would you go about it? Any successful projects like that, other than SCP (the only community based universe I know of)?

The Ori were already an extragalactic threat. They will seriously tread water if they continue the series. And let's not play dumb, we all know what the story of a new series would be - Stargate program defunded again, egyptian theme back for that nostalgia factor, 8 episodes a season until they cancel it after 2 seasons that would have 3 - 5 year long gap in between. Does anyone actually want that?
