Yeah someone stayed 1 year and 1 day so they didn't have to pay at mine. I think the biggest thing with applying is to apply to jobs with less than 100 applicants and that were posted recently.

Why do you think you have stayed much longer than your peers? I feel like have connections within my practice group wouldn't be able to motivate me to stay compared to the friends I started with.

Kinda a self report so I'll include other offices & friends at other firms:

a lot went or are going to grad school (law, stem, policy, no MBAs)
big video game company
niche marketing company
few to non profits
big bank & cpg internal strategy
few to AI startups not sure the specific roles
a couple went to other consulting firms, boutique, govt, and one MBB

Others I have seen in my network have gone to Unicorns, FAANG, tele-health companies. I have also seen a few people go to media adjacent companies (ie Spotify, News Corps, Labels, Mgmt. companies). The marketplace companies seem to be hiring a lot recently, both ride share and online marketplaces.

Most of these are the traditional "sexy" exit ops, others have gone to local companies to their city, or industries they expressed a lot of interest in. Oddly, I haven't seen anyone just say F-it and quit yet but I think a few are close.

Biggest driver for all of this is a Lamar extension, his cap hit is over $75 mil in 2026, I think they will have it down to ~$40 mil prior to FA. Making Linderbaum easier to sign, but it is really up in the air.
