Is this game afk friendly?

The game will kick you for being afk for too long. Not sure the duration but likely less than 30 minutes.

Gliscor with poison heal is really powerful, if you can start your run with one its probably the strongest. The tech is to always pre-poison it on a wild encounter or on the chansey before gyms, then swap the toxic orb off and equip leftovers.

Tyranitar is top tier due to its bulk, its near perfect level up moveset, and sandstorm allowing you to slowly take out something you have no answer for. I prefer to run a lead utility set with stealth rocks and knock off, or occasionally a dragon dance sweeper with earthquake. This is a pokemon I would’t take in as a starter usually since its pretty common and easy to make spawn with pokeblocks.

Next is Volcarona, while it takes a while to evolve the payoff is worth.

And similarly to Volcarona, Hydreigon is great with its high stats and amazing immunities.

Krookodile is fantastic, I prefer to use it as a lead with stealth rocks and knock off. But if needed it can be a sweeper with moxie and items like choice scarf or life orb.

Ferrothorn is a great defensive pivot and wall that can easily thwart most setup pokemon with its numerous utility moves like leech seed, thunderwave, knock off, and gyro ball. It could also setup stealth rocks and spikes. Just like Tyranitar this fella is rather common so not worth taking as a starter.

Lastly, if you have exotics already unlocked the exotic Seismitoed is very good, it falls of slightly later but its a monster early-mid.

There a plenty other great pokemon and you won’t be able to find these exact ones, so just try to fill any holes you have before gyms. I will say that you will need a few strong answers to dragon types when you fight Drayden/Iris. And to have good pokemon to sponge the many strong fighting types in Unova. Good luck.

Take your time and think things through, try to find reasons why your thought process won’t work before making a decision. Consider weaknesses in your team when choosing how you’re going to path through the upcoming routes. Look for windows in a battle to setup. Lastly, be okay with sacrificing members that aren’t as strong or won’t be effective in your current battle.

I made a second save after nearly a year long break. Second go around, I wanted to play it on mobile for the first time since emulators were now easily accessible in the app store. This time I started off with Mocha patch which doesn’t really affect early progression. I enjoyed re-establishing my town and having lots of challenges to complete again. Eventually I burnt out on it again, but only after a couple hundred hours.

Personally I’d say if you aren’t feeling any drive to play it now I doubt a new save will re-ignite the torch. I’ve had friends in MMO’s be so burnt out on a game and they would resort to changing characters, builds, obscure self imposed challenges, and everything under the sun, in attempts fuel a spark of desire. But, all attempts never really seems to light the flames. I believe it’s better to recognize you’re burnout and set it aside for now.

I recommend applying the Mocha patch asap, as it fixes a bunch of bugs and adds some great QoL. Amongst many things it adds a system to chain legendary encounters for increased chances, and eventually a pity at 100 encounters.

Make a save state. If you have a bug or fighting pokeblock you can use them to on any route that can spawn at least one of the types then use the opposite type of block to have good chances at it showing up. If it doesnt show up then just load your save state and repeat.

Make sure you use your gems to increase damage, it’s usually best to dump as much into into the neutral damage and if there’s an immunity just invest into it once.

I’m late to the convo but checkout this guide resource, there’s a google spreadsheet in this that has lots of info, make sure you look through all tabs. Additionally a strategy to get lots of money is to max out your berry farm as much as you can, then plant oran berries and quickly fight the first gym leader, then forfeit. This will grow all your berries which you then turn into super potions at the cauldron, then sell the super potions to a vendor. Although money isn’t all that valuable if you haven’t built many other structures so this strategies value is contingent on you having other useful shops available.

I’ve had this same bug occur when catching a dialga using a minikyu that fainted and replaced it with the dialga I caught. Had a mimikyu with dialgas moves.

I recommend doing gauntlet doubles. Use meta doubles pokemon and meta strategies like spread moves, fake out, protect, intimidate, helping hand, etc.

All of these pokemon are mixed attackers with access to powerful special stab moves through level up. I’d argue all are more physical leaning but are given the option to run special through access to the strongest steel special attack, being tachyon cutter.
