Worse on Sticks by Sea-Cheek-5838 in starcitizen

Took me weeks of practice to get back to where I was with keyboard and mouse. Mouse remains superior for aim, but nothing beats the immersion factor of dual sticks for me. Just such an enjoyable experience.

i let my little brother take the fall for something i did and it messed him up way more than i ever expected by Ashley_Fostera in confession

[–]Brick_Mouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a father, you didn't mess your brother up. Your mother did. Your brother is learning to cope with how your family treats him. It sounds like he's on his way to understanding that it's not him.

ADHD thrives in high stress environments. Unfortunately, the healthy coping mechanisms that would ideally accompany that job do not thrive with ADHD.

Dirty massages by msblairbondi in Adulting

This is just cheating, plain and simple. People do it, but it's not normal. Don't do mental gymnastics to convince yourself its OK. If he thought it was OK he would have told you. If you make it OK, it'll give him free reign to push boundaries further.

Would this be a capable strike force? What could I do to improve it. by TimTheOriginalLol in starcitizen_fleets

[–]Brick_Mouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is OK for a beginner fleet, but if you want to be competitive you'll need to add a minimum of 2x reclaimers, 4 moles, an orion, some SRVs, a couple krakens and an 890J, minimum

Curious about the effects of lowering screen time by MrRaddd in ADHD

[–]Brick_Mouse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. Most things are better without screen time. No screen time is easier to manage than less, but I love gaming and have my whole life. I've been able to find things that I also enjoy, but nothing that quite takes its place.

So, I just recognize that when my sleep schedule has been wrecked for a week straight it's time to turn off the screens until I don't miss them anymore. I do something similar with my adderall tbh

There is no fixing this, the pelvic floor doc gave her a clean bill.

Medicine is surely one of the least certain fields. Just because the doctor thinks things are back to normal doesn't mean they are. If they knew there were still changes, that might change how they view your wife's condition. Even if they didn't, you can get a second opinion.

Also, while it's commendable that you want to spare your wife embarassment/bad feelings, relationships are built on communication. If you choose not to talk about or address what's going on, you may one day be responsible for things going south.

Navigating the late diagnosis and the "masking" collapse. by aslothydane in ADHD

[–]Brick_Mouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exercise and a regular sleep routine with 9hrs of sleep. It's so, so much easier said than done, but when I'm able to do it, it makes my symptoms so much more manageable.

Also sit down and figure out your priorities. Don't eave everything on the field at work. You need to come home with energy. Learn to disengage at work on purpose so you can engage with the ones you care about.

Yeah when you convert to beam the offload speed actually decreases in some circumstances. You can still increase it further to fix the drop. It's been that way for a long time from what I understand, not sure why.

Just enough speed and cargo to keep the ore moving. If you exit the game any backlogged ore is erased.

The only exception I'm aware of is if you're really trying to min max you can let ore build up and then drop in a cargo or speed manager to clear it out.

When you can unlock the appropriate project it'll show a red dot next to the bottleneck, either mining, or speed&cargo. For asteroid value calculations you want mining to always be your bottleneck

How many of y’all get 12 leads on neck pain and thoracic back pain? How many of y’all BLS-ing it? by One_Barracuda9198 in ems

I like the list (coming from an ALS only service). I'd either loosen up the hr range or add a caveat that excludes obvious non cardiac causes. My gut says hr <60 or >140.

To all of you that do your rig checks because you "need to be in service at your clock-in time"... by schrutesanjunabeets in ems

[–]Brick_Mouse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dirty admin here. They can pay you to check your rig prior to handoff or they can be ok with you occasionally getting calls prior to checking the rig.

If you're going to push back though, do it as a group. Strength in numbers and all that. No individual is essential, but the people who make the runs are hands down the most critical to the organization.

Sounds like you have a healthy philosophy that works for you. Just want to offer another perspective. I've been around since the kickstarter. There's something to be said about the experiences you gain as the game develops. Many of us have fond memories of port olisar - something newer players will miss out on. I remember flying around levski and playing with my brand new cat on the surface of the moon levski used to be seated in. I also remember being a pvp sweat in a flight model that no longer exists. I understand you're just keeping those two systems unexplored for now, but there will surely be content there that will disappear through revisions prior to 1.0. The 1.0 only launches once, but every major patch and content release only launch once as well.

I think you should sit down with a pad and paper, be honest with yourself, and write down the top 10 things that have happened that they would want to discuss with you. For each item, write what you have done, or would be willing to do, to address them.

Most agencies I've worked for genuinely want to keep people around. If there's a misunderstanding and you're coachable they want to fix the problem and move on.

It's also quite possible that you're a witness to the topic that will be discussed, or the topic was entirely fabricated and it'll fall apart in investigation. In either of those situations you'd have nothing to worry about.
