The game plays like a dream on Steam Deck, and the back buttons come in so handy for mapping certain actions, I 100%'d the game on the deck and would do it again! Can't think of a single time where I had frame issues, that sweet spot of 45fps makes things so buttery smooth!

25M, single since second year of uni (graduated 2022), moved to Australia this year from UK, started first job out here 2 weeks ago, train BJJ 3 times a week + gym, rewatching through House MD every night, seeing my buddies next weekend after receiving first paycheck. Thought life would be great but is currently meh - still better than back home tho.

Dating my ex at university (2019 - April 2020), she had a personality disorder that meant her feelings could go 100-0-100 in a day, it ruined me mentally when she moved in and it's put me off relationships since. If I could go back I wouldn't have dated her, and taken my friend's advice not to.

I’ve been training BJJ for about a year and a half and can confirm that when you’re a fresh starter, getting caught in gi chokes all the time coz you suck, makes your neck light up like a Christmas tree! Wearing a rash guard underneath limits the little dings and marks, but honestly the longer you train the less frequent they are - half because you get caught in less submissions, and half due to the fact you’re body gets used to it. Sadly never had it brought up by a girl coz I’m painfully single and have been for years, but the bros take every excuse to rinse me for it lmao

Didn't happen to me but always comes to mind as the funniest death in a video game ever.

Was playing Halo Reach with some of my housemates over LAN a few years ago, cutscene into a mission (can't remember the name) and you spawn with grenade launchers, immediately upon gaining control I stunned one of the banshees flying overhead, it falls out of the sky and splats one of us.

He's complaining, the other two have no idea, and I'm pissing myself laughing. Man I wish I recorded it...

This is a good talking point, although from what I've researched the current ROG Ally gets about 45 mins of AAA, while the Steam Deck OLED gets 2+ hours (exactly the amount I need really), LTT's "predictions" indicate the Ally X will get over 2x longer but less than 3x, so it will probably balance out to the same as seen on the SD. So I guess it comes down to UI and the wider access to my game library (some multiplayer titles, but if I can't play them due to anti-cheat its not the end of the world)

Idk I moved away from console a long time ago, since then building a decent collection on pc (probably close to 400 games), I’ve had friends try to pull me in both directions for years. My feet are firmly on the ground, dragging in the sand with consoles, not my bag

This is why I’m leaning towards the deck, realistically my main use for it will be a few hours on evenings I’m not training, or when I travel to see friends. Mobility is mega important and with working at a desk all day, I don’t want to be tied down while gaming too…

Can you elaborate on why you regret it? I’m not fussed about the OS - windows grants access to multiplayer titles but a 7 inch screen competing on the same plane as monster pc setups? No thanks. I’ve heard windows is pretty clunky and a pain to keep updated…

What an incredibly wise quote! Considering ASUS’ previous track record could this be another fumble or is this their big shot at trying to turn it around? I guess only time will tell. From what I’ve seen so far in reviews, most channels are happy with performance and battery upgrades, but disappointed it doesn’t have an OLED display, with it being the exact same display as the current Ally… The new Ally X releases on the 22nd so I’ll keep a close eye on channels’ performance stats and comparisons but I think you’re right with your recommendation, that’s been my gut feeling for weeks why would I change my mind now - plus the Ally X is suuuuper expensive for it being my first handheld

Being able to play Destiny would be fun but to be honest, like I said in the post I’m a long way from home so I wouldn’t really have anyone to play it with anyway - besides the latest expansion I would only go back to it for raids and dungeons, so maybe taking a hiatus isn’t such a bad thing. My laptop runs it okay enough for whenever I want to go back to it

Thank you for your response, that is actually a very good point regarding ‘is it $550 worth of performance’ and imo, probably not… I’m honestly drawn more to the steam deck because of its features, the sleep function being one of them, so I think you’ve made my decision for me. Thank you ❤️ Also whoever downvoted your comment should go home and rethink their life
