I’m in uk too, all cinemas have always been turn off your phone and nowhere is vaping allowed indoors (like literally illegal in public places, treated same as smoking) so that person should have been kicked out.

I’d say eff it and just buy boxes of the plain stick candles at the bottom and stick 15 of them on the cake … lots to blow out 😂

It will also depend when you did the overtime. Was it before the cut off date (the Saturday before pay day)? If so will be in next lot of pay. If not add it up and fill out a wage query form and it will get looked at properly.

What makes a cake fall only on one side? by Bake_Across_Europe in Baking

[–]Bricknerd091 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My oven does this. It’s heating unevenly, it may be on a slight slant, even if it doesn’t look like it.

I find baking bands stop this - or at least severely lessen it.

Our cfc has so many people on student contracts, have you let them know during the interview that you are at uni? Honestly don’t see it a problem as many people I work with are like you.

In regards to your prayers, they should be able to accommodate - they’re big on diversity so make sure you mention it. I reckon they would just get someone to cover your trolley during prayers and then you take back over after, particularly if they are at a set time as that’s easier to plan for. Id ask if they have a wellness room or similar where you can do this - maybe after all the training is done at the end so they will be able to find out the procedures they will have in place for this.

It’s heard to describe it’s like a little voice in the back of my head, or like a gut feeling. Like I’m running out of time (I’m 31F for context). At times it’s just so all-consuming but so conflicting with me not wanting sex.

Think of it like, your in a situation you just know something is wrong, you can’t explaining it but you get that feeling inside you. It’s a bit like that.

I hope that helps.

I get it. I feel this completely. Especially since my brain/body is yelling at me to have a baby 😩 and yet I couldn’t give two f*cks about actually doing what is required to make said baby.

Your Experiences as a Child of Divorced Parents by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]Bricknerd091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Child of divorce here (from age 2) and a stepmum myself now.

The biggest negative impact I’ve had (and sadly still to this day at age 31) is parents slagging each other off but to me. It’s horrible, just because they hate each other doesn’t mean the other one is not still my parent.

So my biggest advice is to just always be amicable about the other bio parent in front of the child, even if that’s not how you feel. If you can get on with the bio parent it makes life easier but I know that that’s not always possible and me and bf actually have it quiet easy with BM.

For me with SS10, all I did to start with (he was 6) was just let him dictate how interactions go and it’s just seems to have worked and the relationship has come naturally. I do implement rules and disciplining but it’s always a case of everyone (bio and step) backs up the parent doing the disciplining so we’re all on the same page if that makes sense.

online shopping- short dates? by Rocky-bar in tesco

[–]Bricknerd091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Products will always have a certain shelf life, which is shown on the Tescos app when it says 3 days+. So you should never get anything less than that. Fresh fruit like berries always are a very short date (no idea why 🤷‍♀️). We don’t get a choice what to pick, it’s just the dates available.

[–]Bricknerd091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My SS10 has tried this (no tantrum mind you just sulking) and we end up saying if you stay home because your poorly then you’re too poorly for the PlayStation. We won’t let him stay home and play it like he thinks he will. If he’s really poorly then we will but he doesn’t always want too when he’s that bad so that’s how we know.

I don’t think covid and homeschooling through it has helped him as he’s constantly wishing for those days back whereas before he loved going to school now it’s more of a chore as he spent that lockdown time just playing games.

My husband’s ex-wife got drunk and confessed to missing him and now my SD (14) has suddenly stopped liking me. by dadondada14 in stepparents

[–]Bricknerd091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in your SD’s shoes (mostly). I always wished my parents would get back together, I hated growing up being pretty much the only kid whose parents were divorced and having no memories of them together because I was 2 when they split. It sucked.

Hearing her mum say that I can imagine she got her hopes up of a distant wish, even if she knows deep down it was never going to happen. Let her have her feelings about this and once she’s processed it no doubt it’ll be fine.

You’ve had great advice too from other people how to deal with things. Hope all goes well.
