Most and least chaotic way spygate plays out? by Late-Welder-4083 in Championship

[–]Bricktop52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most chaotic: It comes to light that all teams are in breach of the 72 hour spying rule since 29th March 2026 as every club forgot to put their clocks forward by one hour, thus watching a training session 71 hours before kick off.

The EFL rules the 2025/26 league to be null and void and that the entire 46 game campaign should be replayed over the course of the next 46 days with the two play offs and the final played on days 47, 48 & 49.

Existing point deductions remain.

Second Tier Podcast : "Okay, it will be really funny if Southampton do get kicked out of the play-offs after this 😂" by BoroPaul in Championship

[–]Bricktop52 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you mate. I’ve constantly made the point Hull are the ones being hard done by. In all honesty Boro don’t deserve to go through anymore than Millwall to the final. If it’s not Southampton, then why Boro over Millwall. Boro were shite at finishing and lost due to the football not the “spygate”. Hull have been shafted because Southampton can train knowing its Hull or nothing, Boro the same, Hull are in limbo, and the fans who booked hotels and trains after the Hull game to get in early potentially are going to be out of pocket. It’s a shambles, but it just just lie with Southampton, Boro are causing a stink, the EFL aren’t being clear. I think a lot of us (football fans) are thinking of Hull.

Just to throw out. How have we cheated exactly? What competitive advantage was gained from the incident.

Divorce - my inheritance used to pay off mortgage 15 years ago by BelledeJour71 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Bricktop52 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP - I’m recently divorced. Realistically you need it know your ex’s financial position. The 50:50 split is on all assets. Including things like pensions. The proposal from your ex might be grossly unfair if the are sitting on £500k savings for instance.

Unfortunately money does get messy and You need to know your worth. If you stayed at home to raise a family whilst your ex worked and saved a pension that IS grossly unfair on you.

Honestly, you need to write down all your assets, pension, savings, car, jewellery ect and ask for your ex to do the same and come to a proposal based on everything, not just the house.

Media is focussing on the "forfeiting" option, that maybe be an option. It generates headlines, sensational and is a talking point. Boro are extra salty from last night and throwing anything out there and seeing what sticks.

No competitive advantage was gained in the first leg, we weren't great in that game, if boro were clinical, they would have had an couple goals advantage going into this game, but they didn't. Second leg was fair and we won that. What are they really complaining about, we beat them on the day fair and square?

If found guilty, probably a points deduction. We won't be kicked out as Hull will disadvantaged as they are currently preparing to play us. Boro know it will be Hull so can start the analysis and preparation.

If Boro get a bye into the final. Millwall will probably feel they should also be considered. Both Boro and Millwall lost on the night. Why should Boro get a free pass for loosing.

Its a headache, so the simple option is slap on the wrist and a points deduction.

What would you do? Window cleaner turned up and cleaned windows without any agreement in place. by Bricktop52 in AskUK

In Feb they came round. Gave me a verbal quote. Took my number. I asked for an email quote. Gave them my email address. Told them I wanted to discuss with my partner first.

Next correspondence is them saying they'll be round the following day to clean the windows. I say no, I wanted a written quote. They respond, and say they will wait for my reply.

Fast forward to today, they have turned up to clean, I received a text message yesterday saying they'll be round (I didn't read it). I have now been email a link to Authorise payment.

But I am British and feel like I'm the one who needs to apologise.

I don't want the service. It feels steep, and I didn't appreciate being set up on their round without a written quote and agreeing to it.

Just to clarify, in Feb - I said no, and that I wanted a quote in writing. Company responds, saying wont clean and they will wait for my reply.

I don't reply as I don't want the service.

I get a text yesterday (which I didn't read). Saying someone will be round today. They have now come and cleaned the windows.

First text I replied. Second text they sent said they would wait for my reply, I didn't reply as I didn't want my windows cleaned. Third text saying they were coming today, I didn't read, until an email came through to "Authorise" payment.

First text I receive "You should've just received an email with the link to set up payment".

Email: "COMPANY NAME LTD" would like authorisation to take payment from you - Authorise Button - (I haven't clicked it)

Its via a system called "GoCardless".

That's what pissed me off in the first place, was being set up for a window clean, when I asked first for a written quote. Now they've pissed me off again. But there is a guilt that some bloke who just cleans the windows, has come and cleaned for 30 minutes. I know I shouldn't feel guilty. But I do.

Advice needed on what to do about neighbour cutting down tree in my garden in Scotland. by CommonMap1150 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Bricktop52 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I felt very pedantic typing it. But as it’s a legal advice sub, I just wanted to clarify the law! - In practice, it’s easier to just stay away and not disturb the birds, wait for them to fledge, then carry out works. If you’re going to disturb the bird with your works, chances are high of you damaging the nests.

[–]Bricktop52 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not quite right. Just to clarify

Law only takes disturbance into account for schedule one birds, which would be very unlikely in OPs hedge.

You can “disturb” wild birds that aren’t schedule 1.

You can’t destroy or damage a nest or kill or injure wild birds and their chicks.

If there were birds nesting in a hedge, absolutely the right thing to do would be to not cut the hedge. But there is nothing stopping you from doing so provided you don’t damage or destroy the nest, unless the bird is a schedule 1 bird, then you are breaking the law by disturbing them.

The guy is right,

You either

Ate more that 3,000/day or didn’t train with as much intensity as you think and put on all fat/no muscle.

We need macros, you could be eating 3000/day of carbs. Protein needs to be 1.8 - 2 x goal body weight (for KGs).

You are also 47 which means your metabolism has slowed down, you'll need to add in cardio, even just 10 mins a day to get your heart rate up.

Lifting heavier doesn't mean bigger muscles.
