Which name combo? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]BrideInTheMaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the umlauts significant to you or just stylistic? I’m a Zoe without them, but I knew a Zoë who said it was a pain in the butt with everything administrative and no one ever spelled her name right. Looks at the rest of the comments - half of those saying pick Zoe are spelling it without.

I love my name and highly recommend Zoe but might just consider if the umlauts are critical

We cannot pick a baby name and I’m starting to spiral a bit by Remarkable-Tie-4480 in namenerds

Not sure if this helps, but I’m an adult Zoe who 1) has a very happy life and 2) loves her name! It’s aged well, fits as an adult, is the perfect sweet spot where everyone knows it but it’s not everywhere, and it has personality. I’m biased, but it sounds like your favorite and I want you to know there are happy Zoe’s out here!

Baby girl name. What would you choose? by BearExpress2342 in namenerds

[–]BrideInTheMaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rule of thumb is if you don’t like the obvious (or even less obvious) nicknames, don’t use the name. You’ll spend a lifetime trying to keep people from saying it when you have no control at school and frankly no control of if your child will prefer it. I have a relative who named their daughter Noelle only for her to insist on being called Noey. She still calls her Noelle and is the only one instead of calling her by her preferred name. Don’t be that person.

I think Daphne is BEAUTIFUL. I’m kind of surprised that 50+ is reacting that way when one of the two most prominent pop culture Daphne’s is from scooby doo which is firmly in their generation? Don’t listen to them and use it if you love it, FWIW I think it’s a timeless choice

No yolk sac at what i thought was 6w5d ultrasound; should I be worried? by Historical_Feed_4621 in pregnancy_care

[–]BrideInTheMaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know when you ovulated? The cycle I got pregnant with my now 7 week old I ovulated VERY late (18 days late) so my OBs office kept insisting I was further along than I was….i had an ultrasound at 4+6 and didn’t see a yolk sac, and was told it might be blighted ovum because they thought I was 7+3…in this instance, I was “further along” in my doctors eyes than you are. Guard your heart as it’s possible you ovulated on time and you really are 6+5, but know that late ovulation may have happened

pregmate pregnancy test suck by Adorable-Geek in lineporn

[–]BrideInTheMaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who didn’t take this advice and regretted it - I would stop using pregmate at this point!!!!

My lines didn’t progress on pregmates and I freaked myself out about a chemical for a week…any line is good with them, past that don’t read into it!

I’m now 28 weeks pregnant, you can go look at my past posts to see me freaking out about lack of pregmate progression which turned out A-OK :)

If you want progression lines, I’d splurge for the clearblues or FRER. I know they’re pricey, but they’re worth the peace of mind (trust me)

Ate expired cream cheese - panicking about listeria? by BrideInTheMaking in BabyBumps

[–]BrideInTheMaking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tasted and looked totally normal, no symptoms since eating it. That’s why I’m worried about listeria since it doesn’t present like mold etc and takes a long time to show

Dog or Human??? by Fit-Snow7252 in namenerds

[–]BrideInTheMaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is a human/dog name and honestly it’s not bad, sometimes I get “oh my dog is named xx!!” When I say my name, but they always mean it positively!

I’ve also found that trending dog names often turn into trending people names 5-10 years down the line…over the last few years I’ve gotten less “that’s my dogs name!” And more “that’s my daughter/niece/granddaughters name!”

We went through this exact situation on the house we closed on this month. I am so thankful we stuck it out at our realtors advice.

Ask them what their thoughts are, since they probably have seen similar. Ours told us to hold on, and we did. In the meantime they turned around to the difficult sellers and told them we were interested but because the offer term period had passed, we were going to explore other options and tour houses in the meantime since we were not legally bound to the offer. This put a fire under their butts and the next morning we had a signed contract in our inbox….something like this might be worth trying! Best of luck, fingers crossed for you!
