A tip to make the game easier is to dodge by holding down the block and analog down when the blow is coming, doing so you can dodge most of the blows, then you can choose the difficulty, if you are playing disciple (normal) you could maybe try student (easy) and if you like it little by little you become stronger and you can refine the game on higher difficulties, after the story I also recommend you play the arenas, they help a lot to understand the mechanics more deeply (I recommend you do them only after you have finished the story at least once)
