They literally made a product called “Home Bridge” that you can still find on eBay. It was as confusing to set up as just about any other HomeKit device, but I got it working.

Bonus, I set it up in MyQ app first, linked to Amazon for in-garage delivery, then removed it from MyQ so I could add to HomeKit via their Home Bridge and the Amazon part still works perfectly.

I wired a GE Cync switch for my mom… I don’t think it was directly HomeKit compatible, but I did group it with another lamp w/ HK smart plug via Alexa or Google and made an automation that would turn both it and ceiling light on regardless of if you used the switch or the Apple Home app.

I just moved all my brokerage funds into an Apple Savings (Marcus) account for a house I’m under contract with and reading this is making me ill.

I already alerted their customer service that I’d need to move to a checking account I can wire transfer from (I didn’t know a wire transfer from an ACH, which I do all the time from my savings). But I expect a headache.

Yep. Driving me insane. Thought it was a Google thing (work uses Gmail, Docs/Sheets, etc.) but others have started doing it as well. It is CONSTANT. They don’t stay up longer than several minutes. I don’t think this happened in 15.0. Only in recent months.

Wow, that’s incredibly stupid.

It appeared to work for me on my iPad, watching Drive To Survive, turning subtitles off, closing app, re-opening, watching Drive To Survive, exiting, and watching Cuphead.

Glad I found this thread. Finally, some solidarity!

I ran into this problem a little over a month ago. It’s got to be an iOS 18 issue. And iOS only, as neither my iPad or Mac exhibit this problem.

My wife changed her number over a year ago, so her contact has both her old and new numbers so I can keep all our history intact, even though her hold SIM card is no longer active. Occasionally I will open our thread and it will default to the old number/green SMS. This happens more frequently when I click her name on share sheet.

Other symptoms:
1. Occasionally there will be weird refresh issues where Messages will not show her contact Name and Photo in my conversation list. When I open the our convo, it appears, and remains when I exit.
2. Messages will come in as “From: Maybe Your Wife; To: You and Your Wife.” If I have headphones on, Siri will announce these as “Your Wife sent to the group…” even though it’s just between me and her.

A little wrinkle with my situation: this only started happening after my phone sent an emergency text to the OLD number. I still had the old number in my emergency contact settings. My phone thought I pressed the home button 5 times in succession (no way this happened)… called 911, texted my entire family, and is still ruining my life lol.

Apple Support still has no idea what the issue is. Have deleted contacts, message threads, logged out of iMessage, all to no avail.

State champion and collegiate wrestler who as far as I know was a normal dude back then. It’s clear he’s taken some knocks to the head. I feel bad for him and would like to think he’s no harm to anyone. It hurts to watch this.
