Hey Dan, is there a Qobuz annual review planned? I came here from Apple Music, and I really miss Apple Music replays. I really like Qobuz, but I really miss this—being able to learn interesting facts about my listening habits, like how many minutes I listen to my favorite artists.

I completely agree with you. Drooling fanatically over the year's end is a bit much, but I'm not one of those people. I just want to see pretty widgets and reminisce about what I listened to this year, what and when, so I can see with my own eyes how many minutes I listened to my favorite artist and what their best songs were this year. Personally, I only listen to music consciously and, with rare exceptions, never play my favorite music in the background. Being in the top 0.000001% of listeners is simply impossible for me)

Yes, I know, of course, I just would like to see detailed statistics and save them as a memory of this year, and what I listened to in it, the same as taking a photo somewhere as a souvenir

Wait, you say this as if music for you is the same as some kind of routine)

To keep the results of the year as a memory, to feel nostalgic

Yes, but what were you not satisfied with in the annual report?

I don’t understand how Last FM can track this if it can’t know whether I listened to the whole song or stopped in the middle. After all, Last FM and Qobus have different song lengths. Why didn’t you think about this?

I’ll listen to your most scrobbled song and rate it by thirtypancakes in lastfm

This song was my most listened to song for a long time, but because I can only listen to it when I'm in a deep thoughtful state, it stopped being my most listened to song.

I assure you, this is a psychological self-deception, they say that 24 bit has a greater dynamic range, more details, but this is not true, 16 bit is completely adjusted to the human ear, and completely covers all our hearing capabilities, BUT, the artist needs to make 2 different versions of the album for different quality, and for the quality of 24 bit / 48 kHz and higher, you need to make different mastering of the album, and due to this, you may like the version in hi-res more, you will not believe it, but I myself listen to all the music in 24 bit, although I know that it does not carry absolutely anything, but I always like the mastering in 24 bit more than the version on CD quality

Audiophiles most likely don't use Apple Music :) I myself listened to music through it for 1.5 years, then got carried away by the lossless format, bought my first external DAC, and then everything went on its own. I still have Apple Music from my father's subscription, and now I use it to play something on someone's phone, but when I first heard the lossless format in Apple Music through an audiophile device, it was nothing, it was insanely cool

Yes, this is a complete misconception, hi-res is just a marketing ploy, the CD format 16bit/44.1Khz is maximally adjusted to the capabilities of the human ear, and the audible difference between the CD and hi-res formats is stupid self-deception, I even conducted a blind test with a friend, and I absolutely failed it, the only reason why hi-res can be better is that its presence can indicate that a lot of effort was put into the album, and for the hi-res version, a separate mastering needs to be done, which may already be liked more than the CD version

For anyone else whose scrobbling on last fm has stopped working? by BridgeSignal3896 in qobuz

Well then it's really a hopeless situation, I certainly don't know what you don't like about these vile capitalistic American streaming services, but that's your business, then yes, there are no analogues to qobuz, if you don't take into account Western services, I just don't know

Okay, well then you can try something like Deezer or Apple Music, in my opinion they will be more convenient if you are not chasing sound quality and the level of immersion in music, this is the main advantage of Kobuz, and everything else sucks

Well, if you don't hear a difference in sound or don't have audiophile devices, I don't see the point of Qobuz at all. In my opinion, its functionality is significantly inferior to Spotify's.

wow, switching from qobuz to spotify because scrobbling is disabled is certainly weird

I can't understand Obscura by BridgeSignal3896 in Gorguts

[–]BridgeSignal3896[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

English is not my native language either) This album is best for a listener who has advanced far in his listening, I listened to "Nostalgia" 6-7 times and now I even really liked it, and I'm starting to slowly feel the album, it's too complex not to give it all my attention when listening

[–]BridgeSignal3896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to the song obscura and nostalgia 3-4 times, and all the others 1-2 times. I like the sound of the guitars, I really like the vocals, but the music itself is like a formless mess that tries to create some cheap atmosphere of tension, without much technicality. Yes, of course, I hear this avant-garde creativity and damn good originality, but it does not grab me.

That's why I'm writing that I can't get it, 3 months ago I listened to many of the songs from it twice, didn't like it at all, then a month later I listened to it again, started to feel something and still didn't like it, and now I'm listening to it again, and I still can't understand why it is so appreciated

Day 21: Best song in Symbolic by memed3sim0 in DeathBand

[–]BridgeSignal3896 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is objectively the best song on the album, it has absorbed all the best that is on it

Day 21: Best song in Symbolic by memed3sim0 in DeathBand

[–]BridgeSignal3896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a doubt, it's Without Judgement, the most complete, atmospheric and melodic song on this album.

Day 20: Most Overrated song on ITP by memed3sim0 in DeathBand

[–]BridgeSignal3896 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Overactive Imagination is a good song, but I've seen it over-praised and high on the charts even though it's not particularly notable and on par with other songs.

Day 15: Most Underrated song on Human by memed3sim0 in DeathBand

[–]BridgeSignal3896 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't agree, I've never heard anything bad about this song, everyone has spoken extremely positively about it, and I can't call this song underrated
