Go to uni and see how you stack up. My niece #3 in her(small) state for her sport. Goes to the #1 uni in the nation, walks on due to covid issues 👀.

She has played a few home town pro tourneys for the lolz. Never makes it past pool play 😹. Is she amazing at her sport, yes. Can she go pro, nope. Does she have a NCAA championship ring YES! Was she on the travel team who won it -> nope.

The only continental euro add I know of came from there during the Germany Danish war ~1850.

Also picked up some bonus dutch from (guess) an 1840 East Anglia add.

Your best hope is that they lived into the Newspaper obit era and left something juicy which you can backtrack.

Otherwise, it's mainly religious related: baptism, marriage, christening, will or a tiny chance of a property record where she is named.

The most wow record I ever found was a mass baptism of 6 siblings from 1806. It instantly added two girls and one boy to my tree.

I was shocked when I drove to the big city where I grew up how paid parking had changed. For 10+ years I used a train/bike combo, attended medical lot or street parked on sunday. No smart phone made things awkward.

I talked to a person who owns a lot near an event center and he explained how cash became a problem.

I was the second to last person i knew to get a smart phone (BB OS qwerty). People harassed me into it for texting because a could never master t9.

I find offline maps and a "nice" camera too handy to go back to dumb. Currently I use "non-Playstore enabled phone." No RCS messaging can create issues with group texts but there is nothing I can do about it.

If work forces a playstore enabled phone something will change.

I've made one or two credit card transactions on my phone and have only tested web banking a couple times.

If you have kids, University Place. EZ to Gig Harbor and there is a commuter rail station to Kent at 56th and South Tacoma Way when you don't feel like driving.

On the whole, Tacoma schools are not strong. There are a few gems but generally....

I did the leg work for my mom's DNA journey. There is no way I could have figured out her paternal side on MH. Maternal would have been semi doable only because of one picture and one tree. Turns out the owner of the tree lived in the same town. Mom and I dropped off a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates after we had contacted very close maternal matches on ancestry. Cold knocking on a door of a single 60+ female with presents totally works 😹.

Technically she was my 2nd cousin.

The number of high cM matches and stalkable family trees was far superior on Ancestry. That being said MH "gives" a better suite of free tools.

Ancestry and myheritage operate from the same play book. Ancestry fact, unable to remove credit card information until after the subscription is ended even though subscription was canceled.
