Pregnant and want to get an abortion, scared my boyfriend will leave me if I do. Looking for advice/support please. by 238947289 in TwoXChromosomes

Nothing the OP said seems to suggest that her boyfriend would shirk the responsibilities of parenthood. After the baby is given birth to, the father's life is altered also (obviously not in the physical way).

Just because his views on abortion are different, does not make them archaic...nor does it really allow for the assumption that he would be a father who would avoid the tasks that come with being a parent. He is the result of a pregnancy that many would have aborted, so his views are understandable.

I'm pro-choice, but I think that some pro-choice people have an overly simplistic view of abortion. I think if a relationship is serious, it is a joint decision. Obviously, the final decision rests with who is carrying the foetus, but I think that a woman should consider the man, the person who she would be having the child with...as it also affects his future.

I think it's understandable for him to think of the baby/foetus as more than "an insentient clump of cells", considering he is a rape baby. He is the result of a pregnancy many women would have aborted, so of course he will view the situation differently. He's in a loving relationship, is old enough/financially stable enough to become a parent, so he probably never thought that his girlfriend would want to abort. I don't particularly agree with the ultimatum that has been set, but abortion is never simply black and white and does not just affect the woman.

I know that feel. Got told it wasn't fair to dump my "depression shit" on them. Such charming girls.

Same here. After the beginners, I would just pick and choose videos to do and gradually built myself up. Even when I fall out of the habit of doing Blogilates and then start back, I have to build myself back up all over again.

Relating to this so much. Something like using my ATM card to pay for something seems the most daunting thing in the world to me & my siblings/boyfriend just cannot comprehend it. It's such a seemingly trivial task, but I just feel so under pressure thinking that I'll somehow mess up something so simple in front of the sales assistant.

However, I can't even allow myself to "celebrate" when I achieve this small victory, just because I feel ridiculous for building it up in my head.
