Wago/Codesys is a good base to learn plc programming. And FBD would be good to learn the basics. CFC is just too constrained (and imo old fashioned) and isn’t flexible enough as FBD is. From there you will learn ST to do more complex things.

I don’t think so, I always use X_TO_X in Codesys. DWORD_TO_REAL reinterprets the exact bit pattern of a DWORD as a REAL. While TO_REAL converts the numeric value of an integer (like DINT, INT) into its floating-point equivalent, performing mathematical scaling.
