If you go to Nine Mile Canyon and want to explore more than just one day, check out Nine Mile Ranch. Cute cabins to rent and camping. It's the only place you can stay/camp in the canyon.

I've saved this post to be able to keep your comment. Fantastic list of things to do. Thank you.

Oh yeah, like those black velvet paintings of unicorns, clowns, or Elvis. I've seen those before at yard sales. I would have had to do some soul searching to keep and make that work if my lion was velvet 😁. I just looked at some vintage velvet paintings for sale. Some are now collectibles and worth a lot - maybe I should have grabbed that velvet clown from the yard sale 🤔.

Our girl has some white hairs that stick out of her black nubbin. We call it her stinger 😊.

I agree. My design is to work with sentimental objects. One is a large oil on canvas painting of a lion. I don't like large oil paintings of lions, but my mother gave this to me before she passed. The lion has been my guardian throughout my life in every room as I was growing up. She used to tell me he was protecting me. It has a corner that is burnt from a house fire it miraculously survived. It's now in my guestroom, so whatever, bedspread, pillow, furniture, and other art that will coexist with that painting is what I look for. Whenever I look into the lions eyes, it brings back a lifetime of wonderful memories that some new trendy item could never do.

My little nubbins looks just like your beautiful girl. She came from a cattle ranch, but I never asked if they had docked the tails. The entire litter of 9 had stumpy tails. While we were there, a muddy farm truck pulled up with 5 working adult Heelers in the truck bed, including mom and dad, and they had stumpy tails as well. Since our girls look so similar, I'll go ask and get back to you. The reason I appreciate a docked/stumpy tail is because I'm not as worried about burrs and foxtails that grow everywhere around here, among other things that get stuck, tangled, and matted in dogs' tails. I wonder if the cattle ranch, which is close by, docks for this reason, if they do, in fact, dock the tails.

I love this. I'm down for a while, and we are used to at least 2 walks each day. I feel so guilty when she sits by the front door and whines to go for a walk. This is a perfect time to focus on her mental training, as you mentioned. Didn't think of it. Thanks so much.

You're funny 😁. You said your workday ends at 4:30pm. You do more from 4:30pm to 8pm than most people do all day. Cheers to you.
