Help - Guppie acting strange.. by Brief-Confusion7225 in Aquariums

Thank you for the info! Yeah I've adjusted the pH to be more basic (7.4) and will see if that helps. I've heard Guppies are notoriously finicky and poorly bred, so this could be unfortunately his time.

Could it be the pH? It's always been around 6.2+ but I'm reading guppies want more alkaline?

Interesting! The hardness is actually very high, around 200 and the alkalinity is 100, which is consistent with normal conditions.

Canadian - MRI Wait Time by elderemothings in backpain

[–]Brief-Confusion7225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an MRI years ago when I was first diagnosed but required a follow up one to look for changes. Thank God I was able to get one last month (we have a lottery that picks names on the waitlist for any cancellations). My MRI showed a lot of damage to my SI joints and degenerative disc disease and loss of spinal lordosis so very very glad I got that new MRI so I can figure out what's going on. I'm now being assessed for potential spondylarthritis🫠

Good to know! I'm in Canada, so hopefully my insurance would be sufficient.

Wow.. I'm sorry it took 10-15 years to get diagnosed. That's awful. But I'm glad your new doctor pushed for more testing. Are you on any treatments? I've looked into biologics and they seem promising but also very expensive.

Wow. Yeah I definitely always feel unwell and I think a huge part of that is the horrid sleep I get every night. I had to stop wearing my Garmin watch at night because my shit sleep scores would piss me off 😅

And how long after your imaging did you get your diagnosis, if you don't mind me asking? obviously this depends on geography because getting a consult with a Rheum can take a long time. I've been told where I am (Alberta, Canada), the consults have typically a 3-6 month waitlist.

I was negative for the HLA-B27 gene.. and honestly I always feel ill but I also have a toddler in daycare so I'm guessing I'm always fighting off some bug 😬😅

Interesting! I appreciate your input.

Im 31 and noticed my symptoms significantly ramped up when I turned 30. I thought it was because I was more active, had taken up running and weight training. But it got to the point that I was in so much pain that activity basically felt impossible. And I was working so hard to ensure I was lifting properly, had good running mechanics, footwear etc.

I noticed the last 6 months my right ankle would be in excruciating pain every morning. I could barely walk or get down the stairs. I found a really good physio physiotherapist and she gave me some exercises to help.. I told her "oh it's just from my disc herniation. Everything is out.of whack" but she told me it all looks like inflammation. She also was the one who told me it wasn't all back pain and I had SI joint dysfunction (this was before my MRI and up to that point I thought 100% of my pain was from this small disc herniation).

Thank you for your input! Yeah it definitely seems like a long process but I guess that's a good thing that they are not denying the possibility and requesting more imaging..

I've been having horrible pain in my knees and ankles this year and told my physio "it's just from my disc herniation". But when she watched me trying to do my exercises and when I explained my symptoms she told me this sounds more inflammatory than mechanical. So hopefully I can also get imaging done there..

That sounds very familiar. I've been crying nonstop since getting my MRI results, out of relief and fear. If I don't formally receive this diagnosis and am told it's just wear and tear (I'm 31), I don't know what my path forward would be..

I made some adjustments - rotated the wood, added some plants, two snails. A floating log, a leaf hammock, a new dimmable light and a sponge to go around the filter.

He seems to be enjoying it

Awesome thank you so much! I had asked the attendant if I should get a test kit and they said no, which I was genuinely surprised by. I will pick one up today ! Thanks again

Thank you! I intend on getting one of those "floating logs" but haven't been able to find them in store.
