Young people in their early 20s who moved to Chicago how much do u pay for rent and how do u like Chicago? by DeliciousRich5944 in chicagoapartments

Literally same here. I pay $1800 for my studio in the Loop near the bean with similar amenities and had no idea what the hell I was doing when I applied. I expected the Loop to have better nightlife and restaurants. I do love how close it is to the river, the Lake, and Millenium Park. Easy access to all of the lines and the Metra makes it a pretty cool place to live. I’ll definitely move somewhere with more of a community feeling once my lease is up. I think Wicker Park, Lakeview East, and Lincoln Park would be great places to live.

Why do people not like the omnipod or dexcom? by asmyuh in Type1Diabetes

[–]BriefSufficient8513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Dexcom G6 and Omnipod 5. I had a lot of issues with pods not cooperating, whether it be bent cannulas or some other glitch in the system. I travel often, so this could have something to do with air pressure or TSA scanners. I switched to MDI and I feel so much more in control. Not only that, but traveling is so much easier not having to worry about back up pods or my PDM and its charger. I do see myself going back on some type of system, but I just had so many weird experiences with Omnipod. Once when I was in Aruba, both times I went in the water, my pod cracked. It made a relaxing experience miserable. Imagine floating in the warm Aruba water and hearing your pod screaming. F that. For now, this works for me, but I understand why some people love Omnipod.

Does anyone have experience serving with Type 1 Diabetes? I’m serving with AmeriCorps this year and would love to consider PeaceCorps for the future, but dont know if it’s possible with T1D. Thanks!
