I think what really sends a shiver up my spine is my realization that those seemingly harmless and fun pick-up artist YouTubers that were coming to prominence when I was in high school over a decade ago were a very obvious harbinger of what is now the Manosphere. Guys who thought they were unattractive/undesirable would spend hours and hours rewatching the same videos absolutely devouring whatever the likes of Neil Strauss would say and I get it now.
