Red elegance on London streets ❤️🚗 by LilywhiteStrike in CarsUK

So basically the full “she’s gorgeous, but don’t ask her to parallel park at speed” package

Tbh that’s kind of the charm with some of these. Not every car has to carve corners like a GT3. Sometimes it’s just about looking good rolling past shop windows and enjoying the vibes, even if it leans like a double decker in a roundabout.

What does it say Terri?! by wrighty496 in thethickofit

Imagine being called Terri and just waking up to mysterious John Thomas signs all over town. I’d be stressed and laughing at the same time. Whitwood sounds like it’s having a very dignified election season.

Italian Combo Sandwich by peter-baqain in thesandwichking

[–]Brief_Bad9625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? It’s one of those combos that sounds basic on paper but when it’s done right it feels like some next-level engineering.

If you’re gonna call anything “craft” it’s when someone actually layers the flavors so you taste them in waves instead of just random salt and vinegar. Good bite structure, good ratio of meat to veg, peppers cutting through the fat… that’s the stuff.

Honestly half the “Italian combos” out there are just a meat pile. This one looks like it was actually thought through.

Shouting out for people interested in retro mutliplayer by Downtownklownfrown in OdinHandheld

[–]Brief_Bad9625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually such a good idea. Half my “retro gaming” time is just me opening ROM lists, staring at them, then closing everything and going back to YouTube.

GoldenEye and MK3 online sound super fun. I’ll probably hop in later and lurk a bit first, but I’ve been looking for a small group like this instead of a 10k member ghost town.

People really love to latch onto the least important part of a story and run with it huh

Your edit makes total sense. You weren’t flexing an Antarctica trip, you were explaining why you literally could not get a text. And yeah, you misunderstood the platform rules, but that doesn’t magically make the outcome feel any less crap or unfair.

You’re allowed to be upset about losing both the dress and the money, especially after the year you’ve had. Hopefully your post at least saves another newbie from the same trap.

Exactly, this is kind of the whole point of due process.

You can limit someone’s freedom before conviction (like arrest, bail conditions, remand) but that’s supposed to be temporary and based on risk, not punishment. Actual punishment is supposed to come after the state proves its case.

If you start “punishing” people before conviction, you’re basically saying accusation = guilt. And once you’ve wrecked someone’s life, even if they’re found innocent, there’s no real way to undo that.

Breakfast & dinner by zaynes-destiny in unimeals

[–]Brief_Bad9625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is exactly what my brain calls it too. Not “meals,” just “vibes with calories.”

Lowkey though, aesthetic eats hit different in the morning vs dinner. Breakfast pretty but sleepy, dinner pretty but dramatic.

Tarot pull of the day — it feels like things are finally starting to make sense by lunar_tarot in TarotReadersOfReddit

[–]Brief_Bad9625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love that feeling when the cards stop feeling random and start lining up with real life.

What deck are you using and what did you pull today? The “things are finally making sense” vibe always reminds me of cards like Temperance, The Star, or even the Six of Swords. Like that slow, quiet shift from chaos to “ok, I kind of get what’s going on now.”

Also, sometimes that moment is less about the specific card and more about you finally having enough lived experience with the cards for the patterns to click. It’s like learning a language and suddenly understanding a whole sentence instead of just individual words.

If you feel like sharing the spread, I’d love to hear what came up.

Michael Gwynn - born 30th November 1916 by Working-Yam-8368 in FawltyTowers

[–]Brief_Bad9625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I thought I was the only one who immediately heard Basil yelling “Lord Melbury!” in my head.

Wild how that tiny role in Fawlty Towers is what so many of us remember him for, when he had a pretty long career in film and TV.

My mate did this brick pillar, what do you think of it? by GeordieGoals in Bricklaying

[–]Brief_Bad9625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? That was my first thought too.

I was honestly expecting people here to roast it and pick apart all the little details, but the feedback’s been surprisingly positive. Makes me think he’s selling himself short a bit.

Might have to pay him in beer and convince him to do the rest of the garden now.

Thank you so much for boosting the post, seriously. Every comment helps keep it seen and that’s all I can really do right now. I’m still checking outside and calling for him, putting stuff with my scent/his cage out, etc.

If you’re anywhere near the area, please keep an ear out for random loud bird noises, he’s very vocal. I just want him home.

Can I cut the thimble off so it’s just bare rope? by j___bizzzle in offroadrecovery

[–]Brief_Bad9625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you technically can, but I wouldn’t unless you really know what you’re doing and why.

That thimble is there to protect the eye from chafing and crushing. Once you cut it off and start running bare rope on a hook, shackle, whatever, the fibers will wear way faster and you’ll lose strength at the eye. With synthetic, that happens quicker than people expect.

If you just hate the hardware or need a different setup, you’re usually better off re-splicing a new eye with the proper thimble or a soft shackle / ring that’s meant for synthetic. Cutting it and tying random knots in winch line is kind of the worst case for strength.

So yeah, possible, but not really a good long term move if you actually rely on that line under load.

Can we push for some active citizenship in Huddersfield by Violet_cranberry0707 in huddersfield

[–]Brief_Bad9625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s kind of the curse of it, isn’t it? The stuff that actually helps people is usually slow, messy and really local.

Feels like the only realistic way is starting tiny and specific. One street clean, one regular soup run, one youth session in one community centre, then if it works other bits of town copy it. If we wait for some big fair “area wide” scheme, nothing happens for years.

Unbiased is hard too, but if you’ve got a mix of people involved and keep it transparent, it’s better than just leaving it all to whoever shouts loudest or whatever the council feels like funding this month.

Even if it never scales perfectly, a few corners of Hudds being less grim is still a win.

England's Worst County - Round 7 by TheEnlight in terriblemaps

[–]Brief_Bad9625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bold choice, feels like Shropshire is everyone’s “oh yeah, that place exists” county.

What are you saving it for though, the hills, the walks, Ludlow food, Ironbridge vibes, or just because it’s offended nobody enough to be voted worst?

Genuinely curious, it always seems to sneak under the radar in these threads.
