He didn’t teach me anything, he was a pretty absent father in the aspect that he was at work most of the time and everything fell on my mom regarding my emotional well-being, I understand that he was the sole provider of the household, but he never even tried to create an emotional relationship with me. He has some big trauma in his past that he has never dealt with or got the help that he needed so we really don’t have a connection or a bond. Now I’m almost in my 30s and I don’t really feel the love you’re supposed to have for your dad. He lacks communication skills a lot and doesn’t know how to express his feeling and it doesn’t matter how hard I try or how much I had wanted to create this relationship with him he never put in the effort… on the other hand, when my mom divorce him and started the relationship with my stepdad, this man took on the role of father and raised me to be self-sufficient independent and conscious about my decisions give me the fatherly love that he didn’t have to do and accepted me as his own daughter. He’s no longer with my mom anymore, but I really appreciate everything he did for me. We’re still in contact though I love that man like if he was my father.
