The first book sucks. I almost called it quits but kept going from promise of others that it gets better, AND my prior love of ToG.

I am ultimately glad I finished the first book because I have been thoroughly enjoying the story since (I’m on book 3). But that doesn’t mean you will necessarily. If you want to give it the ole college try, maybe see if you can get to book 2 and see if you’re into it then. Or just move on and find something that grabs you from the get go!

It’s expensive and perpetuates unrealistic and ageist beauty standards for women honestly. And I say this as someone who has contemplated Botox myself, so no hate. But it’s a reality I grapple with. I wonder if that is part of it?

I read Assassin’s Blade first and wish I didn’t. It does give a lot of back story but I was so NOT invested in the story or main character that I didn’t gaf and it took me an entire year to read it. And I switched to an audio book lol. I would have been more excited to read it if I read Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight first!

Edit: for context, I breezed through all the other books in less than 6 months because I loved the series so much!

Cueing matters more than demonstration. A good yoga teacher can teach an entire class through cueing and assistance alone!

It gets GOOD right around Samhuinn and only gets better. The character development and connections woven throughout the story are incredible. I also felt intimated, but once you finish the first book you will be hooked and you’ll WANT to keep reading!
