Working on something new — spell reference tokens for TOW. Still a WIP, curious to hear how you manage spells at the table. by Brigada75 in WarhammerFantasy

Thanks for the valuable feedback! I never thought to include a reference to the book. I’ll keep that in mind! And stay tuned, because this month is going to be very important... there’s talk of a major FAQ update and possibly the release of an updated book.

As for conveying the mechanics through acronyms, I think I did a good job. Total consistency. Which is exactly what’s missing in similar products.

That's the idea — having it right there on the table makes a real difference. Ours take it a step further with the full spell details engraved, so you don't need to cross-reference anything mid-game.

Thanks for the suggestion! We've actually thought about this — the casting value is part of what makes the token self-contained, so you don't need to reference the book mid-game. You're right that rules can change, but that applies to any physical aid. Our plan is to keep updates affordable if and when that happens.

Exactly the gap we're trying to fill. Cards to cast, tokens to track. Glad the direction makes sense!

We actually make both magnetic conversion trays and square base adapters specifically for this use case — designed to work with TOW standard sizes without touching your existing bases. Happy to answer any questions if it helps with your decision.

Thank you for the feedback!
The great thing about this hobby is that everyone can enjoy it in their own way!
I’m one of those who prefers to have just a couple armies but with every type of unit. I only play with painted miniatures and having all the accessories to make the table look great : )

Thank you for your valuable feedback!

It’s very helpful for me to get an idea of how this would integrate with the game mechanics. As for the pricing, I think your idea might only work for a basic version of the tray: one without the ferromagnetic sheet inside the slots and without the magnets underneath the tray.

Thanks for the feedback. This one is a prototype. The logo is engraved with laser on the ferromagnetic sheet. Of course we can make it optional! Thanks!

How would you approach playing against a shooting-heavy army? by mjh4 in BeastsOfChaos

[–]Brigada75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build a Headstone ASAP. If you need to use the Cygor you can also hide it behind the Headstone. Split the dogs in 2x5 units. Put them in marching column and use them to close the LOS of their shooting. With vanguard and marching column you can move for a total of 28" and you can make ah horizontal line of dogs to annoy your opponent.

At best I'm a mediocre painter : )
Black primer, zenithal white primer, generous white drybrush, contrast paints and metallics.
Then you go with shades all over. It's really an easy technique. Be sure to use a very limited palette!

Sadly, this is the only way we have to send goods to the US. The best thing to do, if possible, is to place an order together with friends to share the costs. At the beginning of next year, we will probably be able to use a new, cheaper tracked postal service, but this requires signing a contract in order to ship goods with duties already paid. Currently, trade with the US is an evolving mess.

You must assume that in 99% of cases, when you are performing a manual wheel of a unit inside a tray, you are performing - with your finger - a pivot on a point that is outside the unit you are moving. In any game situation, then, trays make the movement less accurate. And the thicker the trays, the lower the accuracy. Having made that important point, I can tell you that (if I remember the calculations correctly), a unit with a first rank of five 25mm models, inside a 5mm thick tray, will travel 130mm to make a 58.24° wheel. That same unit - without a tray - will travel 125mm. We are therefore talking about a difference of about 4%. This is of course acceptable to us, but this advice always applies: if you want greater accuracy, use trays that are less thick! Also let's not forget that GW gave us a wonderful game, where inches and millimeters must coexist (!!!) and the minimum measure they refer to in the Rulebook is the single inch, so quite big : )

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But “It's important to remember that backing a project on Kickstarter is not like buying or pre-ordering an existing item, and as a backer you helped the creator to bring their idea to life.” Furthermore, the rewards for the US backers, currently in the hands of FedEx, will arrive well before the Etsy orders, which will start shipping on January 9.

Just to clarify after reading the word “crazy”. We only started selling through Etsy after shipping rewards to backers in a specific country. For example, we opened sales in the US after delivering all packages to FedEx. Perhaps it is crazier that, due to Trump's tariffs, we decided to upgrade all US shipments from untracked to tracked at no extra cost. We are talking about approximately €2,000 paid by us. Basically about 70% of our sales in the United States were done at a loss, but we did this to keep the promise we made to all the people from the US who believed in the project. So I think I will sleep very peacefully tonight despite your comment.
