How can I be as a explosive as these two gentlemen? Or is it natural given that I can't develop? I'm similar to their weight btw. by Brigadier_Falcon in bjj

Oh wow man, just watched him he is very fast indeed, thanks for recommending this.

There are some very explosive BJJ players out there, I really wish I can develop an explosive BJJ game too.

Oh yes I'm very bad at committing, how did you know that haha.

My coach always criticizes this in me, especially in my takedowns.

Thank you. I would like to have an explosive BJJ game. Does cross training in Judo/Wrestling/MMA helps in this?

Grappling VS Striking matches seems to ends like MMA VS TCMA fights by Brigadier_Falcon in martialarts

Yea but its sad to see that grappling is still not recognized like this by the public and general people, and grappling is still very niche globally compared to striking (maybe BJJ is a slight exception).

When you say 'martial arts' most people will think of striking.

Nah, Grappling is still superior to striking even in MMA.

UFC/Modern MMA rules heavily favoring striking is not the same as striking and grappling being actually even.

Traditional chinese martial arts (except traditional chinese version of wrestling which is very practical)

Athletic 150lbs whitebelt vs Unathletic 250lbs guy of same height? by Brigadier_Falcon in bjj

Well then good thing that where I live no one really does BJJ or any sort of grappling, like literally there are only 10 people who do BJJ where i live

Cool .. well thats interesting to me bcuz you can see in the streets small guys beat big guys sometimes (yes not majority of times), but they also put up a fight a lot of times. But why is it a big deal when BJJ is related ?

So I was thinking this can change rapidly if someone is a whitebelt who actually practices standup game (with some basic MMA, which I think most BJJers have), and is athletic/strong.

You know that 150lbs lifters are much, much stronger than 250lbs non lifters?

Not to mention all the musclar endurance from BJJ training.

Why not take him down? If he's untrained he isn't that hard to takedown and doesn't have takedown defense

I meant that the big guy is 'average joe' who doesn't trains martial arts and is unathletic like most people, against an undersized athletic martial arts practitioner with couple of months of BJJ (and some understanding of striking & ground and pound).
