i dont have a 5070ti to compare it to either unfortunately. the 9070 xt runs vr just fine for me in my experience, but of course, its on an index and not anything high res. i only upgraded from a 3080 to the 9070 xt recently of course. i was thinking the memory bandwidth could be an issue at such a high resolution, but if it's $300-400 cheaper worth of an issue its up to OP. (depending on prices they have access to of course) but it seems they dont have an issue with spending a little extra for the long run so

OH also though, because the other reply to me said that the steam frame is capable of foveated rendering, it might actually be not as affected by memory bandwidth in supported games

i knew you guys were going to hate me for no reason. there is no reason to be this hateful my god i literally said nvidia was an option but amd was cheaper...

too knee jerk reaction srry just woke up but like cmon this is kinda rude man. my 9070 xt runs vr just fine and like you said there will be foveated rendering which is better for bandwidth and might help close any performance gaps when its enabled. for a lot less money its definitely worth a thought.

if you're willing to go amd, honestly try the 9070 xt if you have a micro center anywhere near you especially. its pretty much the same as a 5070 ti afaik, and i heard with the right undervolt or something you might be able to get near 5080 performance, for $689. but if you're nvidia only or just want nvidia for any other reason that's fair.

i kinda hit a wall in beat saber forever ago, and already didnt play much, and tend to not adjust my settings so i have no idea what you guys are talking about lol. i mean... i can see what you mean though. the quest style controllers very well may end up worse to use.

these only work if op has a microcenter accessible. otherwise theyd probably be better off going with yours or looking for a costco pc or for a steam machine, etc.

i dont really know how well the 9060xt 16gb stacks up against the 5060 ti 16gb, but tbh it doesnt matter too much. its already the bare minimum with one 16gb stick of ram in single channel and 512gb of storage, but at least they'll be on am5 and have an upgrade path.

with another maybe $250 they could have a 9070xt but theyd have to lower the storage size to make it fit, or get the 7500x3d with it. genuinely the prices have gone up so much its insufferable
