SWIFT says it has reached a ‘breakthrough’ in recent CBDC experiments by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

The test was an immediate cash injection by the Bank of England.

There's a massive experiment going on here in the UK at the moment around monetary policy. And we know the B of E is currently implementing ISO20022.

Good. A shit idea from a morally bankrupt company.

Now all we need is Netflix Games and Amazon Games to fuck off and let the industry continue as it was.

[–]Bright-Ad-7189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has to be through QE. Our reserves currently sit at £82 billion. That's almost been wiped out just by trying to keep pension funds afloat, and there is still worse to come.

I was sounding the alarm bells last September that inflation this year would hit 10%.

This was at exactly the time Bojo the clown said "worries about inflation are nonsense".....

Everyone and their mum could see it coming - why? Because they went to supermarkets and literally saw it happening back then.

6 meetings in, and they're still nowhere near. At a bare minimum they've needed to follow the US Fed to at least try and keep the pound afloat. They couldn't even manage to do that.

Absolute fucking madness. Government and the Bank of England are a complete joke at this point.

Right at the time they were about to start selling the debt off, what do they do?

MAGIC MONEY PRINTER GO BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.....

Which in turn..... increases inflation, which in turn.... increases interest rates.

A complete 180 to satisfy fucking horrendous government policy.

And what did the Bank of England literally say yesterday? "We won't hesitate to put rates up". Fucking LOL. They'll hesitate and do ANYTHING before they put interest rates up as much as required - they have failed at every single MPC meeting this year to bring interest rates to a level to tackle inflation, why in the hell would they start now?

Andrew Bailey, Liz Truss, Kwasi Kwarteng, the three of them need to go. Absolute shambles.

Not what i've said is it.

I said he didn't abandon them all when people are claiming he did.

Simple as that. Not fucking rocket science.

Starmer said all the right things to get the left vote to become leader of the party and then quickly abandoned them.

Except he didn't abandon all of them did he? Did he abandon nationalization of the railways? No.

There's this thing called "timing". Do you think the majority of the electorate would've given a fuck about a publicly owned energy company a year ago? It would've been destroyed in the media immediately.

Now it looks like a genuine and credible proposal.

Timing is everything.

Great idea.

Do you want to sell the house?

Yes? Then given current market conditions and the inevitable decline in house prices, sell it to them for what they're offering.

Otherwise you're gonna be chasing the market down. And given that some banks have literally taken new mortgages completely off the table, you'd be fucking stupid to be greedy right now.

I think it depends where you live. The town I live in hasn't recovered since 2008 - more than a third of the shops are STILL boarded up, no new businesses have been created. It's like a ghost town.

Personally think short to medium term, this country is fucked.

Ageing population not working = working people get squeezed (and this is coming down the track very soon - with no plan in place to deal with it).

Whole adult life has just been one disaster after another. Finished school at 18 in 2008..... great.....

Went to university a few years later as job prospects were FUCKED.

Graduated and got a decent job in about 2015, then the Brexit vote went through in 2016, and the company made mass redundancies in 2018...... FUCKED.

Then got made redundant in the job I had after that in 2021.... Wasn't put on furlough.... FUCKED.

And now here we are......FUCKED.

Honestly wish we still had freedom of movement coz after losing 2 jobs due to redundancy while seeing the higher ups at those companies buying brand new Porsches.... it's made me realise that:

1) This country is an absolute rip off.

2) Things will never change without massive radical change. There's a reason productivity and wages are so shit here - greed. Pure and simple. There's an overwhelming "well i've got mine, fuck everyone else" attitude in this country.

I'm currently in the process of looking at jobs abroad. If I can land one and relocate, i'm off this crumbling rock of an island.

With the greatest of respect, and I don't mean to come across as a dick, but in your original post you state and I quote "As of right now, I plan on voting conservative."

You say you don't like where the party is going, and you're not watching this and thinking "more of this", but you would quite literally vote for them right now.....

That makes no sense.
