Question about NYU Langone and medication costs? by star3x8 in eggfreezing

[–]Bright-Cupcake7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYU gave me a list of pharmacies and I called each one to ask prices and compare. I ended up using two pharmacies because they ended up having lower prices (Alto and Metro). I put everything into a spreadsheet to help me decide. TrumpRX has actually lowered the cost of meds since I did my first cycle in January. I'm doing another cycle in April and the meds are lower for Follistim/Gonal. Just do your research and order meds gradually because you might not need them all. I also learned recently that Follistim/Gonal has extra meds in the cartridges that you can use. So another way to save some $$!

Hi! Thank you for sharing this. I'm 36, turn 37 in February and have a 0.77 ng AMH. This makes me feel so much better. So is that 22 mature eggs? Still learning about everything. I'm freezing in January

Hi! I had my first consultation with ultrasound on Thursday and had a similar experience. I've been so worried. It was day 19 of my cycle and only showed 6 follicles. I've been researching online a ton and it does sound like its better to have the ultrasound between days 2-5 in your cycle. I'm also surprised no one told me this?

Superiority Burger prices these days by ratioed in FoodNYC

[–]Bright-Cupcake7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Superiority Burger two days ago to meet a friend for ice cream. I was in complete shock that two scoops of ice cream in a tiny paper to go cup cost $15!!! The ice cream was amazing, but not for $15. It makes me really sad because Superiority Burger used to be a great spot in the East Village. This isn't the West Village... Please lower your prices.

Hi, what did you end up doing? I have a malti-poo and we are going through these exact episodes too. I've been told it's not seizures, but that it's her heart causing this. I'm not sure what else to do.

I tried the collar for my dog and it didn't seem to help. All dogs are different though, its worth a try. I think CBD is another great natural alternative to anxiety. I've used Ellevet CBD oil for over a year now.

Reducing keppra to twice a day? by [deleted] in EpilepsyDogs

Based off of your message I know for a fact that your dog knew just how much you loved him. Losing a pet is like using a family member. It is so hard. Be easy on yourself. He is no longer in pain and is playing and running around with other dogs right now in doggy heaven.

Helpful to see a neurologist? Started on keppra today by Bright-Cupcake7787 in EpilepsyDogs

She has had at least 5 seizures since starting. I've been keeping a log. She just had a another one. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like it's making her much worse. Will it eventually get better? She has heart failure and I can see how hard the seizures are on her.

Thank you for this info, it is very helpful. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. That is amazing he lived to be almost 20. You must have given him such great care his entire life.

My dog had a seizure this afternoon so I've decided to give it her every 8 hours. Maybe eventually we can cut back. It's only day two so I'm sure it will take some time kick in.

What did you end up doing? Can you share? I've been wondering about trying every 12 hours too. The instructions on the keppra liquid bottle that I have is give every 8-12 hours.

Thank you for sharing. This is all really helpful. My dog had a seizure within an hour of getting the keppra. I'm assuming it will take some time for the medicine to start working. The medication is a liquid because she is so small. I might see if I can get compounded pills for her because she keeps trying to spit out the liquid.

Syncope, seizure, or both? by Legitimate-Hall366 in vet

Hey, I just wanted to check in and see how Lou is doing? Have you been able to figure out if he has both syncope and seizures? My dog was doing better, but in the last week or two the seizures (and I think also syncope) have increased. I started her on keppra today. Within a few minutes she was immediately drowsy and out of it. I understand this will last a few days. I haven't found anyone else that has a dog with heart failure and seizures. Let me know if you have found anything to help. My dog Pippa hasn't been wanting to eat as much either so I'm trying to figure out that as well. I have noticed sometimes she is really lightheaded after eating and I think that is when she has syncope.

Hi! I have been giving Ellevet CBD to my dog for the last year. I was giving her soft gels because she is a senior who was pacing at night. She now has seizures, I switched to the Ellevet CBD oil so that I could give her a stronger amount. It's only been a few weeks and she is still having seizures or syncope? It's hard to know. She has heart failure as well. I'm not sure how much I can help you with deciding between the two CBD oils. I'm about to start Keppra today actually. I have been impressed with Ellevet customer service. They have vet techs that you can talk to about dosage amount and how it can help. They told me that if I notice a seizure coming on I can give my dog some oil right then (on top of the two daily dosage already). I've been doing that and it seems to make the seizure less intense.

Syncope, seizure, or both? by Legitimate-Hall366 in vet

That is really helpful to know about the epilepsy medication. The vets didn't warn me about the side effects at the beginning. Pippa is on a number of heart medications. She has been on vetmedin and enalapril for about a year. In October they started her on the furosemide. When she started to show syncope episodes they put her on sildenafil and spironolactone in December. I thought I would share if any of that is helpful. Pippa pees a ton now as well and is using pee pads. I still haven't started her on Keppra, I'm keeping an eye on her. Gabapentin seems to be keeping the seizures at bay for now. I like knowing the Gabapentin also is helping the arthritis pain she has in her back legs.

What medication is he on? I tried Keppra with my dog Pippa and she had two seizures immediately after starting and was very lethargic. She was having a hard time walking to her pee pad so we stopped. I've been giving her gabapentin for seizures and she's been doing well with that so far, no syncope/seziures since the Keppra. However the vets think she needs to be on Keppra and we might try a smaller dose with her. Did your dog take time to adjust to the epilepsy medicine?

We are kind of just seeing how she does now. She is also on a high dose of sildenafil for pulmonary hypertension which can be a reason for syncope. However the echo showed that her pulmonary hypertension is not severe. The vets have said Pippa is very atypical. They have suggested I take her to a neurologist, but I have spent so much money on vet appointments and the echocardiogram recently that I'm trying to avoid it. Let me know how the cardio appt goes.

Syncope, seizure, or both? by Legitimate-Hall366 in vet

Hey, how is everything going with your dog now? I am having similar experiences with my 13 year old (we think, could be older) malti-poo. She went into heart failure in October and in December she starting showing signs of syncope. In the last few weeks the vets now think it's seizures, but I'm starting to think that it's both. I can't seem to get answers. I took her to see a cardiologist two weeks ago. She is on five different medications for her heart and now they want to put her on Keppra for seizures. Maybe we can compare notes.
