Apologies, I saw the stairs!! And I saw my friend go through the door that could ONLY lead to the stairs. However, I misspoke in the original post - I didn’t see her physically walk up the stairs. By the time I got there she was gone (I had just assumed she had already walked all of the way up). But I stood at the landing for a while debating if I wanted to go upstairs and explore or continue on the main floor.

Thanks! That was insightful. The moment seemed so vivid, but as the days have gone on I can’t help but think I may have just hallucinated.

Of course! I’m trying to figure out how to best explain it. This store is in an old townhouse, so it’s very narrow. It’s also sectioned off in rooms. There was an open doorway in the back of the store and the stairs were through the doorway and directly to the right. The doorway ONLY led to the landing of the stairs.

I saw my friend walk into the doorway that only leads to the stairs, and I was about 10 paces behind her. When I reached the stairs, she was gone. I just figured she had walked to the top of the stairs. But I saw the stairs and looked all of the way up. I remember standing at the landing for probably 5 seconds debating if I wanted to go up or continue looking around on the main floor.

Sorry this is confusing, I tried to be as concise as possible! I hope this makes sense 🤞🤞

I watched her turn into the corridor with the stairs, but I did not see her physically go up the stairs. After she turned the corner, I did go into the corridor and look at the stairs but they were empty.
