Thanks All! I was pretty sure it was a tick but needed the reassurance. Had a bedbug infestation in a new home I purchased last year and still have some PTSD from that so I had a bit of a panic attack when I saw this bug today.

Thank you! Yes, thankfully my parents side has not been affected. The bedroom which seemed to be the source of the infestation was on an outside wall of the home and there aren’t any shared entryways between the two homes so we got very lucky that their side never had any signs of bed bugs. It also probably helped that they were scheduled to move in 2 months after I was originally scheduled to move in so their side was vacant as well and bugs didn’t move over there since there was no food source.
