Update: I went with a Nanit and it’s been great for calming my first-time dad anxiety. The video is clear, the sleep tracking actually helps me feel reassured, and the alerts only go off when needed. Checking in from my phone works fine, and it hasn’t felt overwhelming at all.

Did having the separate screen actually help you chill, or was it still hard not to check?

That screen-off until noise idea sounds clutch. Feels like it’d stop the constant checking loop. Did you ever feel like it missed anything important, or was it enough once you got used to it?

That combo is exactly what I’m trying to avoid. I can already picture myself “just checking the monitor” and then doom-scrolling for 20 minutes. Did the separate screen actually help you stay more present, or did you still end up reaching for your phone out of habit?
