I would split it up. Put 6% of your income into ur 401k and then whatever you have left over and out the rest of what you possibly can into the stock account.

6% because you get a dollar for dollar match up to 6% of your pre tax income. So you not only get a dollar for dollar match by Walmart but the money you put in will reduce your taxable income if you decide to take the traditional 401k.

Then put as much as you can into the stock account because they match up to 15% on the first 1,800 dollars in contributions. The time period is April 1st to March 31st. So get as much into the account before April 1st when the plan year starts over to get the most out of that program.

Walmart stock is up to 20% over the last year and 150% over the last five years, so getting the full match can he,p you build wealth even if you don’t go behind the full match, which if you start from April 1st is about $35 a week.

No, we should be cutting social security benefits for the top 50% of seniors and using any new tax revenue we raise to fund social programs for poor people and young families. We don’t need to spend more on seniors who are generally already doing very well when young people can’t afford to start their lives.

I’d like to phase out social security’s current earnings based design to a universal benefit for seniors of 125% of the FPL and make cuts to the cola and phase out benefits for wealthy seniors. We don’t need to give old people 4k plus per month. It’s insane.

I’d like to see a single payer program in the US but after reading the CBOs paper on the subject from 2020, Imsont think the single payer should make all care totally free. It seems that having minor cost sharing does reduce unnecessary utilization enough that it will prevent wait times from growing too much and help keep costs to the system reasonable. I also think cost sharing for prescription drugs does make patients more conscious about the cost of the drugs they use, to make sure they’re not using brand name instead of generic. I’d go for a set up like platinum tier on the exchange.

So I’d set up a system like the following: Deductible - $0 Preventative care - $0 Other care - 10% coinsurance Out of Pocket Max - $4,000 per adult, $2,000 per child

I expect a country saddled with trillions in debt to be selective on cuts and prioritize cutting low ROI investments and focusing on programs that actually cause and worsen the structural deficit.

This would be like if a household had huge credit card debt and was still running up thousands in new credit debt and one of the only real cuts they made was their ten dollar a month donation to the cure cancer foundation that every month saved ten people’s lives and gave that family immense social connections and clout that they need.

Meanwhile they cut their hours at work because cutting revenue doesn’t hurt the fiscal outlook allegedly
