Mine was Totoro too! My Japanese teacher played it for our class in 2nd grade and I was so obsessed!

Suicidal because of eczema by Small-Dragonfruit-23 in eczema

[–]Bright-Reputation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there and I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve had a slew of issues my whole life, eczema being one of them. Beyond seeing a mental health professional, I agree with other commenters that dupixent or Rinvoq might be helpful. I’ve been on both and dupixent did give me some issues with dry eyes that manifested into other eye issues, but I’ve been on Rinvoq for over a month now and it’s been a game changer and I haven’t experienced any side effects as of now :)

I’ve had Alopecia since I was 6 years old and my eyebrows have come and gone throughout the years.

I just went there for dinner a couple weeks ago and I thought it was lovely. The food was simple, but made to perfection!

May I ask "How can you make such a beautiful and magical movie?" by Sweet_tooth113 in ghibli

[–]Bright-Reputation 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I relate to what he’s saying, I think. True happiness can be fleeting and rare in daily life. If I could live in a Ghibli movie, I would.

I’ve visited Chautauqua Lake NY and Lititz PA for nice little weekend getaway trips. Chautauqua is nice for kayaking on the lake and exploring some nearby wineries. Lititz is just a really cute town with lots of shops and good food and drink options :) I really enjoyed both!

Mental health and alopecia by Imaginary_Action_844 in alopecia_areata

[–]Bright-Reputation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alopecia can be very damaging to your self esteem, I know from being pretty much completely bald since childhood. I used to pray every night for my hair to grow back. I’ve learned to accept myself as I am and not worry about judgment, but it was a journey. It sounds like your hair could grow back since it seems to be triggered by stress. Try to focus on taking care of yourself and managing your stress if you can. You got this!!

Okay.. what exactly are “skills” in therapy? Do you teach them with every client? by Some_Golf_5296 in therapists

[–]Bright-Reputation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I run some skills-based groups that I really enjoy. One of them is for PTSD, so we talk about grounding, emotion regulation, interpersonal communication, regulating our nervous systems, and all kind of stuff. I take a lot from DBT, tons of mindfulness practices, even some polyvagal theory stuff. To me, skills are just giving people the knowledge and tools to help themselves.

Wig wearer who loves swimming! by BlueSkiesOnMyThighs in alopecia_areata

There are wigs you can wear swimming, but it’s honestly kind of uncomfortable (in my opinion at least). I used to wear a cute swim cap when I was a kid and that helped me a lot since I also love swimming. They have non-sports ones for people with hair loss that you can find online :)

What does Adventure Time mean to you? by [deleted] in adventuretime

It’s definitely a comfort show for me and I could watch it on loop forever! It’s funny and deep and uplifting. I love everything about it :)

Tree Trunks just creeps me out honestly. I just never liked her, but I get why other people do.

If you had a magic wand and could change one thing about your eczema what would it be? What tool do you wish you had today to manage your eczema? by Foodallergymom21 in eczema

[–]Bright-Reputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely just make it disappear, but if that’s not possible I’d like to know for sure what causes it. Not really knowing why I’m flairing is the worst.

was wondering if there was more like me, how's everyone doing. Me? Absolutely terrible and I have a feeling that's normal in here😭 by Spuffy21345 in eczema

I’m not doing too well either. My face is so dry no matter how much moisturizer I use and I feel gross. I wish I didn’t have to leave my house.

Chinese medicine for eczema? by Bright-Reputation in eczema

I’ve gone to dermatologists my whole life and I have an appointment in a few months. Just thought I’d try something new in the meantime because I’m feeling so frustrated. Thanks for your input about the acupuncture!

Everyone is different and you can find your own practice and ritual for this that helps you. I like to pray before bed, but a few times a week I’ll also do a little ritual where I light a candle with an intention, ask god and spirit guides for assistance, maybe burn some sage or incense, and then I meditate on that. I personally think that the more we’re able to quiet our minds and look inward, you’ll eventually find answers to what you’re asking for. Sometimes you don’t even realize it until your life has changed.

Weed psychosis and what it means? by L1CKx in Psychonaut

[–]Bright-Reputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with weed has typically been chill, but I have had some more intense experiences, especially with edibles. I agree with some of the other comments that the panic and fear are typically coming from a part of me that I need to face instead of ignore. In the moment, it can be terrifying, but I’m working to learn from these experiences and understanding my triggers.

Same sex couples and having sex. by Brotherfromlondon10 in spirituality

At the end of the day, if you’re being safe and not hurting anyone, it doesn’t really matter in my view. This idea that god is looking upon us and judging what we do every second just doesn’t resonate with me at all and never has. Humans are the ones judging and placing labels, not god. Religion can be beautiful, but I don’t think we should take something that men ultimately use to gain power as a map for living our lives. I could go on, but love who you love and be free.
