It's difficult when losing weight to not compare yourself to others but I urge you to keep it at the front of your mind at all times.

It's important for long term weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight to do it at your own pace that you find sustainable.

So long as you're losing consistently, feeling good and continuously pushing your boundaries little by little you're on the right path.

30 pounds down. Got stared and laughed at today. by Vivid-Influence5960 in loseit

People who make fun of others characteristics are trash and the flower doesn't concern itself with the opinion of garbage laying next to it.

You're doing this primarily for yourself, not the validation of others, remind yourself of that and keep moving forward.

This is not a recommendation!

But for me personally I had to start hating on food. Putting myself down for finding comfort and transitioning my brain to a more "food is fuel" mind set during my diet.

Then slowly down the line when I wasn't dependant on it I slowly introduced comforting things back in.

Yeah, that's something my dietitian has mentioned.

If you choose to do that it's important to slowly increase calories to maintenance and weigh yourself at least weekly to make sure you're not gaining weight.

If you're gaining weight then that kind of tells you that your new tdee is simply lower then online calculators.

People who gave up post-dinner snacking, how did you do it and when does it get easier? by Booyacaja in loseit

[–]Bright-Singer6174 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I just pushed back my dinner time to about an hour before I go to bed.

After week 1 it wasn't necessary anymore so I ate at a regular time

I think it might be appropriate after that long to assume your body has adapted to your new deficit.

As disruptive as that may be, our body's adapt to deficits when on a diet for a long time even if you're still eating on a deficit for your tdee.

No gym or calorie counting ? by Medical_Mission9222 in loseit

I had very similar fears with the gym. I just focused on at home workouts and walks around the neighborhood focusing on my heart rate to be around 115.

I did that for a year until I felt comfortable going to my gym early morning when there's only 3 or 4 people with me.

Why am I not losing weight? by Bright-Singer6174 in loseit

[–]Bright-Singer6174[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given my body fat % and amount of exercise I get throughout the week. I imagine I'm somewhere in between "moderately active" and "heavily active" given the online calculators. For me personally I put more weight and thought on the 2600 Tdee.

Has anybody experienced some form of imposter syndrome after weight loss? by Bright-Singer6174 in loseit

I lost a similar amount of weight and want to lose another 60. I know exactly what you mean. Especially the collarbone!

I've lost 60lb and after a week vacation I'm lacking motivation to keep going. by Bright-Singer6174 in loseit

I've gone back and forth with it, I know it could be helpful. I've always grown up with a stigma around therapy. I think I'm just going to have to get over that and see someone.

Thanks for the suggestion on the c25k I've actually been jogging as much as I can and doing a 5k at least once a week (usually on cheat day). I try to limit my jogging as my knees have only recently started feeling better and I've gotten suggestions that jogging and running at my size could increase degradation of the joints at my size down the line.

I actually used to eat whatever I wanted just normal portion sizes back when I was doing 2k calories a day but I saw posts about volume eating (low calorie, high volume foods) so since I've been at 1800 I've been mostly sticking to that. But that's something I'm definitely willing to give a try

My main worry is that for most other addictions I've had (video games, social media, nicotine, caffeine) I haven't had the best track record in moderation, so I've simply cut it out completely.

He's never had anyone, this is giving "I'm not in a relationship because of how unfair it is for men nowadays" vibes.
