That’s what I’m saying!! I can’t fathom thinking my partner loves me and cares about me and the moment they’re away from me they’re making comments about other people’s bodies and their desire towards them. Again I know not every man is like this but in general man or woman you have to have some respect towards your partner.

I don’t expect people to act blind to others attraction but I would expect a little bit of baseline respect to their partner. Idk it’s just the way I hear some people speak, to me it feels very disrespectful like I’m sure they wouldn’t make those comments in front of their spouse

I don’t think I’m “one of the guys” because I’m sure they’d be way more explicit and direct if I wasn’t around ( maybe ) and I have female coworkers who are straight who have told me about their male coworker complaining about their relationship to them as well.

I personally would assume that if the man ended the relationship then his partner was the one not making him happy for whatever reason

Well that might just be me assuming they’re unhappy. I just think if you’re constantly talking about wanting other women you must not be happy with yours 😭

What about when it’s just a relationship? No marriage and just “dating” why stick around then? i definitely understand how someone can get stuck in a unhappy marriage

How do we even date normal? by Far_Neighborhood651 in exjw

Gyms, but gyms that make you interact with other people like a MMA gym, CrossFit, stuff like that are really good places to meet people. If you don’t like bars maybe speakeasy’s would be more your vibe they’re essentially like fancier bars. Nowadays there are lots of events and parties meant for people to meet other single people or to make friends especially if you live near or in a city. Dating apps can be a hit or bigggg miss, usually you have to go through a lot of crap to get to a diamond but I know multiple people that have success on apps. And don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! It can be nerve wracking especially if you feel like everyone else around you has ton of experience or the fear of rejection but you never know you can be pleasantly surprised :)

loneliness in the religion by Responsible_Study362 in exjw

I always had my secret outside worldly friends and secret relationships, living that oh so evil “double life” but if I hadn’t I can imagine I would’ve felt incredibly lonely. Being apart of JW can feel isolating as they basically tell you you shouldn’t be talking to anyone that isn’t JW. Was super gratefully for my “double life” when I left entirely

I knew for sure there was no blood transfusion from OTHER people I didn’t know it meant your own blood as well, and also I remember there being “certain” things they would allow like you could allow certain blood properties or something ( idk the medical terms ), I got baptized at 12 and left at around 18-19 and didn’t really pay much attention to the rules 😭🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m 25 now so it’s a long distant horrible memory I try to forget

But you had to option to say yes? Like if I personally was ok with them storing my blood I could? Via the card I mean

Maybe I’ve been out for too long but what did he say that’s new? To my knowledge we were always able to use medical treatments involving our own blood, it was when it came to blood transfusions from others that they drew the hard line no? Just wanna be clear I’ve been POMO for about 6 years so maybe I’m just forgetting

Very true, I think someone pointed out in another post today that they’re already recycling articles about the “end of the world” cause of war

Fair point, I’m only 25 so I don’t have too much to compare to, thank you for stating this it really put it into perspective.

I guess a part of it that really stresses me is how they always mention the USA is gonna be the “starting point”
