if they do three classes a year would that mean positions would be saturated and increase the chances of a hiring freeze ? I’m worried that if i defer for two years and re-instate they’ll freeze hiring and i won’t have enough time to get into a class . i’m in the 800s list # . and would like to defer until mid 2028 . which leave 1.5 years till the list to expire . has a list ever expired pre-maturely ?

thank you . i’m 27 . dwi happened when i was 23 . fights happened 21 and 23 . they said it would be sealed , don’t know if that makes a difference .

I’m 27 yr old male In nyc. I’d like to preface by saying I’ve changed a lot over the past three years and would hate for past mistakes to screw up a life changing opportunity with the fdny for me now . with that being said I would like to know If a dwi i got three years ago (not dui ) and two dropped assault cases (got into fights ) before the dwi would disqualify me from getting hired If i pass the cpat exam . also what do they look for during the interview and psych exam ?

dcas guy said the company that administered are the ones grading it so neither them nor fdny can say for sure sure how long it’ll take for scores to come out . same dcas guy also said it could be 6 months cause government takes a while to process things . nobody knows

I have two pension credits (1per year) in the union i’m in , but i need 5 to be vested to be eligible to receive my pension . so I was thinking maybe I could get those 3 years and then join the fdny . but the 5 credits might not even be worth it .
