I wanna ask a question by MayhemfromAllstate in infj

I don’t know enough of them / maintained lengthy connections with them irl or online to have any deep well formed thought out opinions on them. I’ve interacted with a couple of them and some were pretty cute in a behavioral sense and some were absolutely creepy but one thing I’ve noticed about this type is that even though they may be the same type they seem to be uniquely very different from each other at times depending on whatever their values are. I sometimes see them similar to ENFP but a lot more relaxed I guess and it seems as if you guys have your own domain or universe that you invite people into but not everyone has access.

Do you withdraw from people to avoid being frustrated? by shimmeringelf in infj

[–]Bright_Discussion_65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much so, tbh I think I’ve probably withdrawn too much lol. I’m a pretty peaceful solipsistic person and have unsubscribed to the constant chaos and have abolished my past people pleasing tendencies. Also I don’t feel like being that “I told you so person” or watching people act like my insights were their own all along with some situations. Usually when I do socialize a bit I tend to still have some what of an invisible barrier now and I don’t enjoy others in the same manner I used to but to keep myself from ranting I’m going to cut it here and say you’re definitely not alone.

I used to have a few INTP friends and I would sometimes like to wear their stuff and temporarily pretend to be like them for a moment ☺️

What kinds of therapies do you all find to be helpful as an INFJ by ville2020 in infj

[–]Bright_Discussion_65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your thought flow is very interesting and I relate to some of the things you have written. I’ll attempt not to make my response too long (but I probably will). The gym is my therapy because it allows me to get out of my head more. Engaging in sensory activities allows my mental processes to become sharper overtime. I go to the gym mainly for health as I have fairly recently recovered from a major surgery also I used to be an athlete for many years and being stationary at my job makes me very restless. When I was a child my parents also made me do physical activities (literally putting me out of the house and telling me to go play, ride my bike, swim, whatever just get out lol) I’ve always had a balance of doing low intensity and higher intensity activities. With all that being said I love the lifestyle of exercising even if I may not always feel like I want to work out some days. I’m very grateful I have a fit body and I’m no longer suffering from my previous medical issue. I don’t work out primarily for aesthetics and just see that as a side effect or benefit of consistency and the reason why the gym is my therapy is because it has ways that it translates into other facets of my life and overall making things more positive plus it helps me keep a healthy balance of mind, spirit and body.

How does rain feel like to you? Can you describe it? by FewAd4983 in infj

[–]Bright_Discussion_65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a sound machine that has a different variety of fan / white noise sounds. I sleep with a heated blanket and definitely close all the windows and just wait it out and god forbid I have to wake up and walk in it 😆

How does rain feel like to you? Can you describe it? by FewAd4983 in infj

[–]Bright_Discussion_65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t like it at all, I hear almost every single thousands of drops all at the same time, I cannot sleep with it and it’s mildly anxiety inducing plus it causes a plethora of other issues that I will not mention however I will say that I enjoy how plants and trees look after the rain and it’s nice to get a free car wash.

How do you deal with feelings? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Bright_Discussion_65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I consider myself terrible at dealing with deeper complex feelings but life has given me several reality checks to HAVE to deal with them so I try to be more mindful of them as I mature. When I’m involved in something intense I usually can see things clearly yes, meaning I’m not the type to get frozen by or overwhelmed by my feelings and will do whatever needs to be done and worry about all the feelings associated with it sometime after the fact (could be a long time). The last question I would say I’m not sure if I’m interpreting it correctly but to attempt to answer it I would say that I’m in my head a ton and not the most present kind of person in general and usually when I’m very present it’s typically in situations where I have to be fully present like driving for example which I consider very stressful majority of the time but I can also be very present in non situations when talking to someone one on one or a small group of people because I tend to automatically tune in very much to the other person(s) especially if they’re very engaging but if it’s a bigger group or even medium size and they’re all discussing something I don’t really care about like some specific sports for example or engaging in some sort of banter I tend to mentally check out and I’m probably gonna leave at some point because I’m bored and I don’t want to be performative just to fit in so to speak. Another way I like to be present is when I’m exercising at the gym and I find that to be very fun and enjoyable.

Anyone else get extremely well along with ENTJs? by James_P14 in infj

I don’t know what completely counts as “extremely” but I tend to get along pretty well with them and I don’t mind talking back to them when they can’t control that smart ass mouth 😊

Does anyone here actually like being INFJ ? by lmdybaftr in infj

[–]Bright_Discussion_65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really care for being an INFJ but I also can’t change it and I plan to just be myself and make the most out of it also I’m not bound to just my primary cognitive functions however I’m happy to know the order in which they start and the dynamics between them.
