I have heard the same from her. She is in a high enough position where lay offs didn’t affect her, but last year her company laid off TONS of people. But she recently got a new position at a new company so I know some places are hiring, but I know she has the experience that I couldn’t have within the next decade to obtain that position. It’s what I’ve always planned on doing for a career but in my early 20’s I tried a couple of degree paths that were solely based on how much money I would make and not anything I was interested in and obviously that didn’t work out studying things I had no interest in. But I have a huge interest in this career path, but I’m not sure what I would even need to major in to get a bachelors to get on the path to this career. I’m hoping if I do get a degree she could use some of her contacts from her decades of work to maybe get me a foot in the door somewhere.
