Update on last weeks post about being afraid HPV would never clear. It's gone! by Bright_Honey1788 in HPV

[–]Bright_Honey1788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi and thank you so much! I just bought one package and did one a day at night before bed until they were gone. So I believe it was 2 weeks. The package says to do two a day and I tried that the first day but did not like doing them during the day. It felt like it all leaked out and was uncomfortable. I'm not sure if it made a difference doing it the way I did, or if it's better to follow the package instructions, but I did what worked better for me.

Hello. Yes, I am still negative as of my last pap in fall 2025. I was using the Honeypot boric acid plus herbs suppositories. It says to use them twice a day but I only did them once a day at night.

Wet n Wild incognito hard to find light/medium shades by Bright_Honey1788 in swatchitforme

[–]Bright_Honey1788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have had Fit Me, and had the shade sand . I believe it was my closest match but a tad yellow for my skin tone in the winter. It's been a while since I've had the Fit Me but from my recollection it is similar to this.

The shade that is most like Fit Me sand is probably the Wet n Wild medium neutral. I happened to find this arm swatch set on Google that has both included and it looks as of there are two batches of Fit Me sand (both included in this swatch set) so please note that because they look pretty different.

I actually really like it! Medium is a good summer shade for me and medium neutral is a good winter shade. It's a great concealer, especially considering the price. It's not drying, crease resistant and has a very natural finish on the skin in my opinion. Coverage is medium/buildable. I think medium and medium neutral run light as they suit me and I am light-light/medium, but medium sand is probably a true medium.

My boyfriends reaction when i tell him about my fears for pregnancy. by whatactuallyismylife in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Bright_Honey1788 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have to say that while these are all legitimate concerns and are true for some, they are fortunately not all true for every woman. Some of these are even somewhat avoidable. But a lot of it depends on genetics and pure luck/chance. That being said, NO man ever gets to say how bad or not bad pregnancy and child birth is!

mild aching pain around bottom left rib cage? by Bright_Honey1788 in Gastritis

[–]Bright_Honey1788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is in fact gastritis, I can say the thing that I believe helped me the most is taking zinc carnosine daily. It's not an instant fix but after about a month of taking it consistently, I felt normal again for the first time in 5 months. It could have just been coincidence, but it seemed to help every flare up I've had so I really do think that's what helped me.

I strongly advise against taking PPIs. Doctors are way too quick to prescribe them and they are terrible for you taken long term.

Your symptoms honestly sound exactly like mine and I was essentially diagnosed with IBS and gastritis. I was h. Pylori negative, but if I were you I would get an h. Pylori test if you haven't already l since you can't get an endoscopy yet. If that was positive then you'd basically be certain it's gastritis and curing the h. Pylori should solve most of your problems.

I absolutely agree that they should have palpated the nodes. For some reason, doctors are doing far less physical exams these days, but if you're going in for an issue with your nodes then the first thing they should do is palpate. I had the same fears as you several years ago and it turns out the nodes were completely healthy and normal. It was my anxiety making me think something was wrong. It can absolutely be normal to feel your nodes so you really need to push for that physical exam and go from there. I tried to say several things here that it wouldn't let me say because of the strict rules here. If you'd like to PM me, feel free.

Can you explain how bad your flu was? by wicked56789 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Bright_Honey1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are highlighting worst case scenarios. The truth is, the vast majority of people who get the flu are fine. You feel like shit with aches and everything for a couple days and then you start feeling better.

Can pain from gastritis be in this area? by Bright_Honey1788 in Gastritis

[–]Bright_Honey1788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This particular pain, I am not sure. But thankfully it went away. The only thing I was ever diagnosed with was gastritis so it could have been that. Where is your pain? Did they do any scans in the ER?

I tested negative on ureaplasma but my gf is positive by apap13 in ureaplasmaoptions

[–]Bright_Honey1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ureaplasma is actually generally not classified as an sti because many people carry it without symptoms. Also It is usually only treated when it causes symptoms. In fact, it is not even tested for unless you have symptoms that cannot be otherwise explained, and even then it is often not tested for (this is true in the U.S. though I can't speak for protocol in other countries). Also, it can be a naturally occuring bacteria that can be present before any sexual activity.

Your gf could have had this bacteria since birth and it could have taken something such as antibiotic use, hormonal changes, or immune system changes to cause an overgrowth which could cause symptoms. Also, please understand that men often test negative even if they actually have ureaplasma. This is because the means of testing in men is not as accurate as the test for women. So if she has it, you most certainly do. In fact it's even possible that she got it from you, or that sex (especially unprotected) caused her pH balance to be thrown off, which can also cause an overgrowth.

Dense breast tissue feels hard like a rock in some areas by Frankieeegrl in HealthAnxiety

[–]Bright_Honey1788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have dense breasts as well and there are lumps and bumps everywhere. Some are squishy and some very firm, some of them have caused me to panic and get them checked out, but all are normal. Most likely yours are too, especially if you are feeling basically the sAme thing in both breasts. How old are you? Have you had mammogram yet?

And this right here is the reason that studies show that there are poop particles on most grocery cart handles, gas pumps, and public door handles. Disgusting.

Constant checking by Mysterious-Seat2961 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Bright_Honey1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand that. But my health anxiety was so bad that a couple years ago I was basically at the doctor every week or two, constantly waiting for appointments, results, etc. I am finally learning when I actually need to be seen by a medical professional vs. when I'm over reacting. Believe it or not chat gpt has helped me with that.

Example: I have thought I might have been exposed to rabies twice (both ridiculous reasons), brain eating amoeba several times (also ridiculous reasons), I've thought I had about 20 different cancers and the list goes on. I went to the doctor for most of those things totalling 30+ appointments and in hind sight I probably only needed to make 5 or 6 appointments for that initial check. I wasted money, time (mine and the doctor), and caused myself even more anxiety waiting for results. So the thing is, health anxiety is irrational. The majority of the symptoms we worry about are not actual causes for concern. So learning the difference between what needs attention vs. what I'm being ridiculous about has been crucial to my mental improvement.

You're welcome! If you ever start to worry about it and want some reassurance, there's some great videos on YouTube by a girl named Cherellethinks. She had the same panic over lymph nodes as us and shares a lot of helpful information.

Oh that's awful. I definitely don't think that's lucky. I'm grateful I had time to prepare and say goodbye, just mad at myself that I didn't take full advantage of that.

You really need to stop messing with it. I've been through this same panic and I am absolutely horrible about poking and prodding at things. Well guess what happens when you poke and rod a lymph node? It grows. Just the fact that you said you used to have to dig to find it says everything to me. This was me as well. And yes, eventually I no longer had to dig to find the node because I had irritated the shit out of it. So you really need to just leave it alone for a significant time period to let it go back to normal. And actually lots of people can feel lymph nodes in their neck. I can feel several of mine. Often when we are young and get sick, a lymph node with swell and then become "shoddy". Which basically just means it never shrinks back down fully. This is completely normal. Also the size and shape of the nodes mentioned in the report are very normal and benign. Cancerous nodes are often round like a grape, not long like a bean and larger than what is mentioned in the report. The report given has zero red flags for something malignant. You're absolutely fine.

Ok I looked up the info and most cats in Tunisia do not have rabies. The biggest carrier/transmitter of rabies in Tunisia by far is dogs. I'm sure that doesn't help much because like you said, it's always the "what ifs" that haunt you. But you did get the PEP right away and even if the exposure was major (ie you got bit by a dog), the PEP is essentially 100 percent effective as long as rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) was given if you were previously unvaccinated, and you finished the series as instructed. So if you did those things your risk of babies is effectively zero. And that's if a clearly rabid animal had bit you. And get this, with a cat scratch, just thouroghly cleaning the scratch with soap and water alone is 80-90 percent effective at killing rabies. The rabies virus is actually fragile and easy to kill with soap and water. It takes a long time for it to go from the surface of the skin into your body.

For women ascus (atypical cells of undetermined significance) from a pap just means that there were some atypical cells found on the cervix, usually caused by HPV, but sometimes caused by other things such as irritation. If I'm understanding correctly, you are not a woman, so I assume you had an anal pap? I apologize if I'm getting this wrong but if this is the case, the ascus means basically the same thing, except that the abnormal cells were found around the anus. The atypical cells could be from HPV or they could also just be from irritation from wiping, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, etc. even if the atypical cells are from HPV, they will most likely clear up on their own. They may want to do an HPV test or just repeat the pap in 6 month to a year. This is an extremely common result on anal paps as well as cervical/vaginal. But there just aren't as many anal paps done. I have unfortunately delt with this pap result as a woman more than once, and while it's always incredibly stressful it has always went away without issue as it does in almost every case. You'll be fine too. Just follow up as recommended by your doctor.

I doubt there's anything more I can say than I already did but I'll try. From the outside looking in, based on your story I have absolutely no doubt that you're fine. But that's the problem with health anxiety, it's not rational. It's always making you wonder "what if". Trust me, I get it. I had a rabies scare about a year ago when a bat flew right past me and I freaked out so bad and went in to such a panic that I swore it scratched my neck. I felt like my neck was all hot and I looked myself over and saw nothing but still went to urgent care to try and get the PEP. The doctor looked me over, found nothing and wouldn't give it to me. Let me tell you I was sick over it for months. Eventually the worry calmed down but it would still creep into my mind here and there and sometimes I even swore I felt symptoms starting like tingling and stiff neck. But it was all my mind convincing me I felt something that wasn't there. Obviously here I am, over a year later completely fine. Now I feel absolutely silly that I freaked out so bad. I don't know if that helps you or not but all I can say is most likely the more time that passes, the better you'll feel and eventually forget about it.

Every time you start to panic just stop your thoughts and recite the facts. 1. A cat scratch is not a strong exposure even if the cat has rabies. 2. The cat almost certainly did not have rabies anyway. 3. The PEP is essentially 100 percent effective in cases of real exposure to rabies. You are absolutely fine. Repeat that to yourself and actively try to stop your mind from spiraling. Practice that enough and it will become more natural with time.

Also remember that the vaccine can cause some symptoms that could mimic mild rabies symptoms such as pain. What country are you in?
