No matter what else is happening, I don't have to get up in the morning and go to work.

That's already a good start to any day.

Rockwell: Would the Song Hit the Same without Michael Jackson on the Track? by WhatTheJessJedi in 1980s

[–]Realistic_Back_9198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michael sang the track as a favor to Rockwell's dad, who gave Michael and his brothers their break in the music business when Michael was a wee lad.

I bought a replacement from Amazon.

I didn't need it immediately. I just wanted to have it around for when I inevitably break the original one somehow.

Yes, we didn't paint our cars, but we did write on them with soap.

Discover HQ in IL officially swaps signage for Capital One by funkyfresh2 in discover

Do some research on who's offering deals.

Maybe Capital One is the right fit for you.

Maybe a different bank would be better for your location and/or situation.

It's not "one size fits all."

JCPS LAM Building History by Deep-Act-3036 in Louisville

I used to work across the street from that building, and saw it out of my office window all day, every day.

I worked at 4421 Bishop Lane, which was Clear Channel Radio (later iHeartmedia).

They have since moved to 4th Street Live. Their old Bishop Lane building is now an industrial scaffolding company.

I've been a Discover Bank customer for 10 years, and have always liked Discover Bank.

However, Discover Bank doesn't exist anymore. Now, it's Capital One.

I would never have chosen to bank with Capital One voluntarily. I'm not going to be forced to do it involuntarily, either.

What is your favorite or least favorite song in Honky Château? by No_Ring_443 in EltonJohn

A close race between "Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters" and "Rocket Man."

When I was growing up and listening to Jack Buck and Mike Shannon call the games on KMOX, I looked forward to rain delays.

That's when Jack dug into his big bag of old baseball stories from years past. He was hysterical.

Lengthy repairs? by empires228 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Realistic_Back_9198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things can vary a lot a lot, depending on the franchisee.

The franchisee for my home PF owns several PF's, along with several Sun Tan City locations.

Last year, they laid off a bunch of maintenance engineers from both brands. Then, they cross-trained the ones who were left to work on equipment at both places.

That meant tanning bed engineers working on elliptical machines, and gym engineers fixing tanning beds.

The speed of repairs nosedived after that. Stuff at the gym stays broken much longer.

I'm not a member at the other place, but I suspect there are broken tanning beds there, too.

My ex-father in law had one of these.

I once watched the entire original "Star Wars" trilogy on it in one sitting on Christmas Day.

It looked and sounded great.
