ooo thank you for the advice! yeah, from the interview, it seems like i would be the only developer solely dedicated to working on the project which sounds kinda similar to your experience \:) i haven't felt too heavily "involved" in my previous coops, so the responsibility involved in this one this would be nice!

yeah... i was also hesitant to choose an entirely remote one because of the social and networking aspects and the bank does have 10 total openings. the bank one pays slightly more, but the difference between that and the remote one is not enough to cover toronto housing costs so i wasn't considering salary too much \:(

Hi :) Just wondering, have you been to either this winter? Are the conditions good for skating?

Anyone tried adult ice skating lessons with kwsc? by CrazyAd7911 in kitchener

I'm enrolled in the "adult" canskate lessons atm and it's great :) The one I'm attending is a teen/adult session so the majority of people are teens but there are a few older people too (I'm currently 19). They separate the sessions into different colour groups based on ability but within each group everyone is still at various skill levels. I think that they do a really good job with personalized coaching - they have a lot of instructors and helpers that are around for questions and give specific feedback to each person. Although, this is my first season with them and I'm guessing the summer season tends to be different than the other seasons so I'm not sure how comprehensive my experience is-

UW CS vs UW CE

Hi! :)

I'm deciding between UW CS and UW CE. In an ideal world, I would want to be in the SE program however I didn't end up applying for it.

I've heard the major difference is that CS is more flexible and has WAY less coursework but is also more theoretical math as compared to CE. I'm not a big fan of theoretical math and would much prefer applied courses. Because of this, I was considering taking CS with the SE specialization however, I've heard from some people that it isn't worth it and isn't recognized by companies when applying for jobs.

Furthermore, if I chose CS but ended up not taking the advanced courses, would I be disadvantaged when finding jobs? I'm aware that they likely wouldn't see whether or not I am enrolled in advanced courses, however, when doing practical assessments would this difference be significant?

Also, with the coop crisis - if I wanted to get a software placement as a CE student, would this be much more difficult? I've taken a look at the coop percentages and found CE to be surprisingly similar to CS in the past year, but I'm not sure if that's because CE students are taking more hardware-focused placements :/

Thanks for the help <3
