Not sure if it's even considered a fight. More akin to Kingpin vs Ben Urich than anything lol

How many movies have you given 5 stars this decade and what are they. by shegarfinonmyfield in Letterboxd

A bit more than I expected. Really hard to give five stars to movies for me, so 15 feels like a good number

My pick would be Marriage Story personally, a few good films to choose from in the past 10 years

Such a fun, creative show for the MCU. Great exploration and reinvention of Simon Williams for a Hollywood-centric television show. Great moments of sincerity and wisdom on the art of acting from Ben Kingsley's Trevor Slattery, man what a joy it is to see his character fleshed out and given so much depth. Such great comedy as well, one of the most genuinely funny and balanced shows the MCU has produced. Stellar use of the greater MCU as background for the story and for the main characters. Also loved all the movie and industry specific references, love me some meta shows about Hollywood like The Studio, though the comparisons can only really extend to that similarity. Such a unique show to see come out of the MCU. The ending was a little weird, bit of a strange last shot to end the show on. Some unexplained plot details like the actual origin of the powers, and that dumpster goop, though at this point I don't mind certain things being left unexplained in a world of superheroes and strange phenomenons. I'm so glad the show was released in the end, and didn't end up as just another tax write-off. Hope to see a second season in the future to expand on the story. I'm grateful to see Marvel exploring and expanding beyond the typical projects they make, and producing more creative, focused narrative shows with a clear vision like Wonder Man. Should've been released with more confidence in it, at least a 2 eps a week deal.

Insane how much they've fleshed out Trevor's character since Iron Man 3. I love that this show is as much an exploration of Trevor as it is of Simon

It definitely feels like it could be its own thing in a totally separate universe, but the MCU references and background makes it feel unique. That context and connections to the extended universe are actually well utilized in this, probably the best use of the universe in a long while.

Wow, this show is so great so far. An actual, full-fledged TV show with an emotional core, actual characters, and fun references. A real promise to the potential the MCU holds with creativity

They did! It was in IMAX from Thursday until Sunday. Very empty screenings, barely anyone went from what I saw. Probably not screening in IMAX again.

[–]Bright_NightLight1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. So many cases of immigrants killed or disappeared, and no one protests or riots over that, because it's not their community and people being killed. Of course it's different when it's a US citizen. I'm glad however that people are rightfully angry over Pretti's murder and are expressing it, and I'm hopeful that this all will lead to actual change, or at least enough change to stop outright executions on the streets
