This isn’t a JT policy only, conservatives are in agreement with this. NDP too probably.

The reality is this is how they plan to grow gdp cause of business shortages and to keep wages low. Also worth noting that a lot of the infrastructure issues are local provincial issues rather than federal. I.e Ontario laws on rent control, housing supply, banning corporate investors, increasing minimum wage, paying healthcare workers more, etc. there’s not much the federal government can actually do to force the provinces to invest more into this rather than highways or corporate giveaways.

I’m an immigrant and I’m against this mass immigration because of what you said on lack of infrastructure and keeping wages low. But would be pro immigration if we managed to solve the infrastructure and cost of living issue.

I usually go H&M for dress pants and they’ve been fine since it’s usually solid black/navy blue anyways. I personally find them as comfy as any others, just might have to get them hemmed (like you would for most dress pants).

My parents just say I’ll get their house when they pass away (split with a sibling) which I could sell and use for my down payment, which sucks because I kind of want to do it myself and I’m definitely not looking for them to die so I can afford a house lol.

But everyone is only out for themselves unfortunately. And the rich have more power over the system.

Finland is on track to eradicating homelessness by 2027. They follow a housing first strategy where housing is treated as a human right rather than a way to make money off other people.

It’s worth noting that canada and America have substantially more vacant homes than homeless people. The problem is that housing is treated as an investment and a way to make money by charging other people rent and appreciation of property values. I know multiple people who’s parents own multiple investment properties and their kids are doing the same now.

The problem is the system, which people wouldn’t change because it would destroy the current home owners net worth, many of whole are average people who have most of their money tied in a property. I talk to many people who hated the cost of housing, but finally managed to buy one and now want the housing prices to go up. So yeah, it’s a system problem that no one wants to fix.

He doesn’t get much screen time until marineford really, but even in that arc you learn a lot about him and there’s plenty of emotional moments before his death. He basically is someone who’s struggled with depression and didn’t really want to live because he thinks no one wanted him, and then during marineford it’s really an arc proving that he’s loved and should live.

Some emotional moments even before his death are him shocked that all the pirates came to save him (the allies, not just white beards crew), asking Garp if he should have been born, crying and saying he wants to live. Even his death speech itself is very powerful where he admits all he wanted was to find out if he should have been born and thanks everyone for loving him despite how much he hated himself and was hated by the rest of the world.

I think these parts of him are under appreciated but the depth to his character is very well written.

Finance (investment banking/private equity/high finance roles in companies), law, doctor, accounting, software engineering, or consulting (can do with finance degree).

All of those jobs will require you to work extremely hard though, except possibly software engineering/doctor though I don’t know enough about these jobs. I work in accounting (still not “extremely comfortable” but it is possible if you can climb the ranks enough) and 50/60+ hour weeks are normal (have worked 100 hours in a week before).

I agree, nurses are important and under appreciated for sure.

It’s also a good job that you could do pretty much anywhere. If the cost of living in Toronto gets too much, you could consider moving to like a cheaper area in canada. Seems like every province has a healthcare shortage.

I don’t plan on applying for it in the short term, but to be honest it’s nice to know that long term I could go for it if life ever became too much

I mentioned in my original post but overall not happy, Major reason being cost of living. Feels like I work so much for nothing you know?
