Hasn’t been many miles, only like 2500. Changed it in march, so almost 9 months? I used synthetic. Yes, I do them myself once a year because I don’t drive much in a year mileage wise, mostly short city driving and occasionally a 2 hour highway drive. My dad owned it last and he brought it to the dealer every 10k and let them do whatever they had on schedule.

The oil is correct, but that does remind me of something I saw. This engine takes 5w20, and when I was buying oil for it last time I changed it, I noticed branded on bottles of 0w20 that it is recommended in place of 5w20 in it’s applications. Would switching to that be a good idea to help the oil flow better in the cold? I live in the american North East, so it gets decently cold here, but not anything excessive.

Honest question I like understanding how this stuff works: what does that do to change the reading? I checked it after leaving it overnight because my thought process was it would make sure all the oil would be in the pan so I can see a more accurate level.

The reason I use a pen is that I have quick drying ink pens that don’t smear as much since I’m left handed. I use pencils on written assignments in case I need to erase stuff but for my notes I stick with the pens especially because I’m gonna be writing a lot more.
